Vaccum pump still not rotating all the time

I replaced the vaccum pump with a reman, and its still squeelin and not always spining

It is the serpintine belt

I have a 1995 GMC k2500 I just rebuilt the engine and did get it running but when I replaced the flexplate and starter the engine will rotate about 6 times then the starter will slip off the flexplate the...


This will happen when the clutch in the starter drive is bad. You indicate you replaced the starter. Was it a new, reman or used unit? We would usually replace the starter drive assembly to correct this condition.

Do you have step by step instruction on how to replace a water pump on a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible?


REMOVAL - 2.7L

NOTE: It is normal for the water pump to weep a small amount of coolant from the weep hole (black stain at weep passage). Do not replace the water pump if this condition exists. Replace the water pump if a heavy deposit or a steady flow of engine coolant is evident on side of the cylinder block from the weep hole passage (shaft seal failure). Be sure to perform a thorough analysis before replacing water pump.

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE PRESSURE CAP WITH THE SYSTEM HOT AND PRESSURIZED. SERIOUS BURNS FROM COOLANT CAN RESULT.

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Drain cooling system (Refer to 7 - COOLING/ENGINE - STANDARD PROCEDURE).

NOTE: The water pump is driven by the primary timing chain.
Remove the timing chain cover, timing chain, and all chain guides


Remove upper intake manifold. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL)
Remove cylinder head covers, crankshaft vibration damper, and timing chain cover. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD COVER(S) - REMOVAL) (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/ENGINE BLOCK/VIBRATION DAMPER - REMOVAL) (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT / CHAIN COVER(S) - REMOVAL)

CAUTION: When aligning timing marks, always rotate engine by turning the crankshaft. Failure to do so will result in valve and/or piston damage.
Align crankshaft sprocket timing mark to mark on oil pump housing (TIMING MARK ALIGNMENT). The mark on oil pump housing is 60 degrees ATDC of #1 cylinder.

CAUTION: When the timing chain is removed and the cylinder heads are still installed, DO NOT rotate the camshafts or crankshaft without first locating the proper crankshaft position. Failure to do so will result in valve and/or piston damage.
Remove power steering pump and bracket as an assembly. Do not disconnect power steering lines from pump. Reposition pump and support with suitable retaining strap.
Remove primary timing chain tensioner retainer cap and tensioner from right cylinder head (PRIMARY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER).
Disconnect and remove camshaft position sensor from left cylinder head (TIMING DRIVE SYSTEM - PRIMARY).
Remove timing chain guide access plugs from cylinder heads (TIMING DRIVE SYSTEM - PRIMARY).

NOTE: When camshaft sprocket bolts are removed, the camshafts will rotate in a clockwise direction.
Starting with the right camshaft sprocket, remove the sprocket attaching bolts. Remove camshaft damper (if equipped) and sprocket (TIMING DRIVE SYSTEM - PRIMARY).
Remove left side camshaft sprocket attaching bolts and remove sprocket (TIMING DRIVE SYSTEM - PRIMARY).
Remove lower chain guide and tensioner arm (TIMING DRIVE SYSTEM - PRIMARY).
Remove the primary timing chain.

Remove bolts attaching water pump to block (WATER PUMP - 2.7L).
Remove water pump and gasket.

This is the proceedure from the chrysler shop manual if you have any problems let me know. Do yourself a favor and avoid potential bent valves!!!

REPLACE THE PRIMARY CHAIN TENSIONER ASSEMBLY, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ATTEMPTING TO RESET IT, IT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK.

I have replaced voltage reg ,sileniod ,starter, battery,then alternater went out replaced it with reman alt now wont charge and truck dies when positive side batt terminal is removed


Check all electrical connections from and to the altinator, if everything is good then its possable your remanufacterd altinator is deffective, the parts store can test them for you. You can never trust remaned parts theres always a chance that its a bad part.

Installed reman power steering pump. Pump is now quiet but power is now intermitent and at times very difficult to turn. I drove it quite a bit purposely making tight turns but still feels as though...


I am not real familiar with the pump you installed, but, It sounds like you are right on the money. There is air in the system. Does the paper work with the new pump give instructions for bleeding?
If not, and you need help with the bleeding, please repost question, " How do I bleed new Reman power steering pump on 05 Accord?", I will watch for it, and have some research at the ready.

Water pump replacement


  • When replacing a water pump, it is necessary to drain the cooling system.
  • Any components--belts, fan, fan shroud, shaft spacers, or viscous drive clutch--should be removed to make the pump accessible. Some pumps are attached to the cylinder block as shown below.

  • Loosen and remove the bolts in a crisscross pattern from the center outward.
  • Insert a rag into the block opening and scrape off any remains of the old gasket.
WARNING When working on the coolant system (for example, replacing the water pump or thermostat), a certain amount of coolant will spill on the floor. The antifreeze in the coolant causes it to be very slippery. Always immediately wipe up any coolant that spills to reduce or eliminate the chance of injury.
  • When replacing a water pump, always follow the procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Most often a coating of good waterproof sealer should be applied to a new gasket before it is placed into position on the water pump.
  • Coat the other side of the gasket with sealer, and position the pump against the engine block until it is properly seated.
  • Install the mounting bolts and tighten them evenly in a staggered sequence to the torque specifications with a torque wrench. Careless tightening could cause the pump housing to crack. Check the pump to make sure it rotates freely.
  • The water pumps on many late-model OHC engines are driven by the engine's timing belt. When replacing the water pump on these engines, always replace the timing belt.
  • Make sure all pulleys and gears are aligned according to specifications when installing the belt.

I have problem mi 91 honda accord ex coupe has vibration when im driving 55 & up im replaced l/f axle,control arm & balance the tires


Is there vibration in steering wheel? Check for bent wheel then check axle...again. Remans are not always good and new ones are just a bit more expensive. Also, check the output shaft bearing for excess play. Also try rotating tires to confirm it's not there.

looking down onto engine feed belt down to your left around crank pulley, route up putting back side of belt around w/pump then continue rest of belt around outside of remanning acc. leaving top idler last. put 3/8 drive ratchet into tensioner and rotate down slipping belt over idler

97 Gmc Savana,6.5 turbo diesel vacuum pump not rotating


If the pump is not rotating all the time then it's due for replacement. They are not supposed to stop while engine is running. 227K miles is a lot of miles for any engine component.
