The linkage that runs the blend door isn't working, these are the doors that control hot and cold and air flow to dash floor ect...they are located in the air box behind the dash ................ you may be able to pull the heater controls out of the dash and spot the problem but it's likely that the problem is in the air box itself and removal of the entire dash is required (big job!!!!!!!!!).........if your vehicle uses vacuum to control this (some gms use vaccum and some a cable)you might have a hose disconnected under the hood by the heater fan.........if it's a cable it may be knocked off at the dash controls or at the other end on the heater box..........sometimes removal of the glove box will give you acess to this connection.
just checked and 88 s-10 is a cable
hope this helps..........thanks fro choosing FIX YA!

My air condition and heat works on defrost only sometime comes out vents last seconds didn't matter were controller set

Not sure what year, make or model vehicle is in question, but the issue is due to an actuator that has gone bad. Sometimes referred to as a mode actuator or blend door actuator. This actuator controls where air/heat will blow from (defroster vent, forward vents, floor vents or combo, etc.). Good luck. Ron @ Speed-O-Repair.

AC has barely any pressure unless on high and only getting hot air.

check the cabin air filter if equipped, Make sure that the air is not coming out of the floor vents or defrost. The door that diverts the air maybe stuck, pushing air out defrost/floor vents

AC is only blowing through the defrost vents in the dashboard?

I think your problem is the head unit that selects where the air comes out ie. Face, floor, defrost, or hi-level face and floor. If that's not working then it will not let you switch location that you want the air to come out.

Cold air comes out the defrost vent all the time. 1994 buick le sabre. no air comes out the front registers.

The most common cause is the blend door actuator. It's the door that diverts air between the floor, vents, and defroster. Sometimes the part will get stuck in 1 position. Some cars have cable driven blend doors, others are electronic.

2002 vue early production 4 cyl. Heating/AC vents - no output

Hi there, Sounds like a vent door switch. It's in your dash and it controls the vent door opening and closing and to which duct the air goes to, defrost, face vents, floor. Best thing to do is buy a Haynes or Clinton's repair shop manual at your local AP store for your particular vehicle. Then read up on it in the trouble shooting section or the step by step RR section. You can purchase these at your local Auto Parts store or buy them on line at ebay burdfrenzy
