SOURCE: I need to replace the starter solenoid on a 2003

The starter solenoid is attached to the starter unlike the older Fords. You will have to remove the splash guard to gain access to the starter. It is located on the front side of the motor.

SOURCE: where is the oil sending unit on a 1996 ford

On 3.0L OHV engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the flywheel. On 3.0L DOHC engines the sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the oil filter. On 3.4L DOHC engines the sensor is screwed into the oil filter adapter. The oil pressure sensor operates the oil pressure warning lamp.

My 1996 ford taurus wont start i tried everything new battery new starter all it does is click what can it be?

follow the positive cable from battery, and you will find it ! did you change starter solinoid with the starter! the clicking and will not turn over is caused by battery, starter solinoid, or bad battery cable. The starter solenoid on many Ford vehicle's is on the inner fender well, The terminals should be free of corrosion and should tighten up well.
When the connections are tight you should not be able to twist them by hand.

good-day !

SOLENOID REPLACEMENT
  1. Remove the starter motor, as described in this section.
  2. Remove the positive brush connector from the solenoid motor M terminal.
  3. Unfasten the solenoid retaining screws and remove the solenoid.
To install:
  1. Correctly position the solenoid to the drive end housing, making sure the solenoid plunger is attached through the drive lever and pin (the bottom M solenoid should have a metal strip attached to it).
  2. Install and tighten the solenoid screw(s) to 45-88 inch lbs. (5-10 Nm).
  3. Attach the positive brush connector nut to the solenoid M terminal and tighten the brush connector nut to 80-123 inch lbs. (9-14 Nm).
  4. Install the starter motor.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Car doesn't crank or start5 checked starter and solenoid

in that case the starter motor (or the solenoid) has gone to the electrical graveyard. Unless, it's an automatic then the fault could be the switch on the gearbox that only lets you start it in N?

1996 Ford Taurus LX wagon. 3.0L 24v Duratec. Stalled leaving red light then no power at all. Towed home. Starter tests passed at home by manually putting power from B+ to 's' clip on starter. Starter also...

I would look at the positive cable at the battery and at the starter. Pull the cabel off and a continuity test to see if the wire has a internal break if the wire gets even a pinhole it can build corrosion on the inside of the wire and when a current is put through it it seperates (from the resistance and arc from corrosion) causing the wire to seperate internaly.

Hope this will get you started!
