Your throttle position sensor should be located on the throttle body opposite of where the throttle cable hooks on too. Look for a small black box on the other side with wires leading into a connector. get your codes read and re post them it could be a simple fix.

SOURCE: 99 F250 V10 Sputtering

It takes just one of the coil on Plug units to cause sputtering and severe shaking. Fortunately the prices have dropped slightly for the coil units. The bad news is it is still close to 100 bucks from the Ford dealers. I have had to replace 3 of these on my 1999 F250 superduty V-10 since I bought it new. I believe there may be some compatible aftermarket units out there for high performance V-8 engines, but can not confirm compatibility.

Could be vapor lock in the fuel system. Next time it does this, stop and try removing the fuel filler cap... Hope this helps...;-)

SOURCE: while driving my 1988 ford

On one of the fenders you will find a square box about the size of a standard photograph with a harness (Likely two, with semi round plugs) attached to it.(Box is usually aluminum with short cooling fins on the sides) That is the "brain" for the ignition system. It is very likely that it has failed.Generally when it fails it will shut the engine off, then, when cooled down it will resume function for a time 'till it heats up again.

DI have a 1983 ford f250 with 6.9 diesel engine. The previous owner told me that the front fuel tank did not work; he said that he was running the truck on the front tank once and that the truck started...

have you looked into the injectors, or injector balance? glow plugs just preheat the cylinders before you start turning the engine over. if the injectors are dumping too much fuel it will run rich and blow black smoke, lean it will dump white smoke, same as if it has an internal coolant leak, but smell different. Ford has had problems with EGR systems on some of their diesels, being an older truck how many miles is on it? and the front fuel tank could have a bad fuel pump, pretty common for them to do what you have described. Also might want to have the timing looked at on it! It ignites off of pressure, and if the timing is off it will adversely affect the ignition of the fuel which will make for hard starts, and poor running. there is a lot that needs to be looked at to figure this one out! could be quite a few different things. Good luck!

2006 f350 6.0 powerstroke diesel missing. help

there is no wastegate on a 6.0l turbo. its a variable geometry turbocharger and doesn't need it. i have never seen a turbocharger cause a misfire, the turbocharger is most likely not your problem. if you didn't clean the intake out when replacing the egr valve there is a really good chance that the egr is bad again. also, a bad egr cooler can cause repeat egr failure. also, fuel injector control module is a common cause for misfire

simply swap out one injector for another (I simply say if you there already just replace the injector...its a possibility that it is a bad or plugged up fuel injector. on number 4 cylinder. if spark and fuel are ok, its the injector doing this. good-day !

I have spark on all 6 cylinders i just swapped out engines and i'm using the same fuel injectors,i can make the engine run on starting fluid

so your problem is little or no fuel pressure,
did the car run before you swapped engines?
if it did that would eliminate the fuel pump,
did you get the crank sensor and cam sensor reconnected, check the fuel pump fuse, and relay,

Getting diesel in oil

Sounds like you might have a bad fuel injector that is dumping fuel in a cylinder that is running down the cylinder into the oil. Could be a fuel pressure regulator that is not holding it's pressure causing fuel to do the same thing.

Is it running good? Smoke a lot?
