If all lights are off, then first check the fuse. Then check for power at the fuse box. Then check wiring.

Have a 97 honda. Just purchased. It has a toggle switch installed that works with original key ignition. That said... toggle controls whole electrical..everything works..except tail lights, and the dash...

So If I understand, you turn on toggle and then use key to engage starter? Do brake lights and turn lights work, just not the running lights? Or are all tail lights dead. If none work, juice is not getting to the headlamp switch. Best fix would be to replace the probably bad ignition switch and repair wiring back to original, but quick fix would be to run a second wire from toggle switched side to the headlamp switch +

How do you fix the dash and running lights?

With what info you've given,it would not have been the light switch or the rheostat for changing dash light brighting.Since both the dash lights and running lights are not working, first thing I'd have done is replace the fuse, since both are o the same fuse.Kinda like when my Toyota wipers would stop, the overdrive stopped working too. Both were on the same fuse.Replace the fuse and good to go.I carry fuses with me.

My restricted perforamance light came on and the car is runs bad what do i need to get it fix

To put it simply, you need to fix the fault in your onboard engine and/or transmission control system.
There is no way ANYONE can tell you what the fault is before proper diagnosis is performed. Please also click the link and read the related article. Why Is My Engine Light On?

I recently had some front drivers side damage to my car. The head light was smashed and the wheel well pushed in far enough that it occasionally rubs against the wheel when I make right turns. I've managed...

Mr Pinske,

The rear running lights aren't on the same circuit as the headlight(s). To get the car legal for
night driving, replace the broken headlight (both need to work to drive legally at night),
and tackle the running lights as a separate project.
First thing to check on the running lights - the bulbs. Why: incandescent light bulbs that are
on at the time of an impact cannot withstand the impact and the filaments can fail, so fixing
your rear running lights may simply be a matter of replacing the two light bulbs.
If the bulbs are ok, your accident has caused a wiring fault, which you will locate
between the ignition switch and the rear running lights.
Here's the manual on how to replace the headlight:

1993 Buick Century
HEADLIGHT REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Non-European Style
See Figures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
  1. Remove the headlamp trim panel attaching screws.

  1. Remove the headlamp bulb retaining screws. Do not touch the two headlamp aiming screws, (at the top and side of the retaining ring), or the headlamp aim will have to be readjusted.

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining ring screws.

Fig. 4: Once the retaining ring screws are removed, the ring can be pulled away

  1. Pull the bulb and ring forward then separate them. Unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the bulb.

To install:

  1. Plug the new bulb into the electrical connector.
  2. Install the bulb into the retaining ring and install the ring and bulb.
  3. Install the trim panel.
Replacing the European style headlights is a slightly different procedure.

How to fix running lights on a 1999 buick century

I just fixed the forward running lights on mine. Running lights are same bulb as the turn signals. There are 2 white clips holding the light assembly onto 2 square studs. Pull both clips upwards about 1/2 inch and the assembly should be able to be pulled out. Remove black round rubber cover, grip the light socket assembly and twist aprox 1/8 turn and it will come out. Replace bulb. I put a little dielectric grease on the spade part to prevent corrosion. Test and reinstall assembly in reverse order. If the white clips come off easily this is an easy do it yourselfer!

Hope this helps Ken

Rear running lights on 99 cherokke

It sounds like a bad connector (corroded, damaged) near the taillights. Take all of them loose and inspect. Clean dirty ones, replace unrepairable damaged connectors.

Daytime Running lights wont come on on my 2000 Grand Am SE.

Do your high beam headlights work? If you have a burnt high beam light the daytime running lights won't work and then the service vehicle soon light comes on.
