Check your brake light switch for operation. It is fixed above the brake pedal linkage. Also check that the switch's plunger is being contacted properly by the pedal arm.

usually when the headlights goes off so does the tail lights thats mean the brake light switch but the side markers are staying on too. it can't be the fuse since they still light. the only thing that breaks the currant is the switch. it sounds like there,s a problem with the headlight switch. the headlight switch operates the side markers and the tail lights along with the head lights. Hope this can helper .

The brake lights wont work. The brake light over

the break light wire on the lumina runs through the blinker switch or multifunction switch on the colum.. check there as well as at the tail light sockets. on the late 90s gm cars the sockets had a tendancy to rot away... use a test light at the brake light wire in the trunk and have a friend apply the break. if there is power then may have to get new tail lights. or replacement bulbs.

My tail lights wont shut off...it drained my battery the other day :(

Unplg the brake light switch under the dash or pull the brake light fuse. Brake light Switch is probably worn out and needs to be adjusted or replaced

My tail lights will not turn off.

Tail lights or brake lights? If it is the brake lights the brake light switch is stuck shut. Replace it. If it is tail lights, then possibly the light switch is defective.

Right brake light out; tail light works fine

most rear tail lights and turn/stop lights are the same dual filiment bulb. it is possible for your tail light to work and your brake light not to and still have a bad bulb. I would check the bulb first, your brake light works on the left yes? this would mean that the fuse is fine
