Moisture number one enemy. Check your distributor cap if wet spray it with wd-40. and dry it.

Sound like it could be the purge valve, it is located between the cab and the box on the drivers side, it has a plug and a hose going to it. It has a small foam filter in it which must be removed, cleaned, dried and then reinstalled.
It happened to me.
I don't remember if I had to remove the neg. post off the battery for a minute or so to reset the fault code.

SOURCE: I have a 2009 GMC

It might be helpful to know what code or codes are stored in the computer. GM can do this through On Star. I don't suppose you continued your subscribtion? Do you know where you could borrow a code reader? Basic models can be purchased for approx $75. You could check for spark. Pull a spark plug wire off from a spark plug. Push a screwdriver into the boot to the metal connector. Hold the shank of the screwdriver about 1/4" away from a metal engine part. Have someone crank the engine. Spark should jump this gap if it is present. Make sure you are holding onto the screwdriver handle while doing this or you may be in for a nasty suprise. Do you have a propane torch? We use on to introduce raw propane into the intake manifold. If the engine fires when you crank it you know that the engine isn't getting fuel. There's a few things to try. Good luck.

On my way home we had a heavy rain and I had my gas powered golf cart on the trailer headed home. Now it won't start when I press the gas pedal. Any ideas?

Water probably splashed and got into areas. You may need to park it in the sun and give it a chance to dry out.

I was driving my 09 mazda 3 the other nite after a bad rain storm drove through some bad puddles slow and the last one I went through the car shut off and I got it towed and now just turns over but won't...

Bummer deal! Not likely you hurt the motor - but may have water on those parts that make and send spark voltage to the spark plugs. When wet the voltage follows the moisture away from the spark plug - so the motor spins - but can't start for lack of spark. Make sense to you? Each of those parts need to be removed and blown dry - then it will run good as need again. Motor and fuel additives like those mentioned below also help with removing moisture in tank and motor oil areas and is a great engine protector - anyway. Hope this helps...

1996 gmc jimmy wont start seems like advanced timing issue backfiring out throttlebody, replaced timing pick up, distribitor cap, crank sensor, ICM, when ignition conrol module replace the engine ran fine...

You said the problem happened right after the engine was replaced correct? If so bring number cylinder to top dead center on the compression stroke. Remove the distributor cap and see if the rotor is lined up with the number one spark plug wire. It's possible the distributor was installed 180 degrees out.

No problem when fine, but when it starts to rain it is a nightmare. I can start the car when it rains but after I've drove the car, if its only down the road, it seems to get wet and won't start. It needs...

Rain going to inside...could be radiators, thermostat,.... air filter,.... spark plugs,...or alternator. Look like need replace. The motor doesn't like water. When you drove on downhill?

Or... its cold start? could be throttle or carby need lubricant spray. Spark plugs need new aswell or clean. For start up to quick.
