Check both rear bulbs and for power to the rear light clusters.
If no power is present, then check brake switch operation at the brake pedal. Also check fuses.

2004 cts bake lights will not come on just setting car has to be on is that a bad bake switch and car is stuck in park

most modern cars (and trucks, too!) have a safety system that prevents someone from shifting out of park if the brakes are not pressed (it helps keep small children from moving the car out of park), check the switch(es) on the brake pedal to see if A) it (they) are getting power, and B) that the power is going thru to the brake lights/ brake interrupt solenoid.

No bake lights hazard lights or turn signals on 1996 MC Jimmy

The first place to start is with the fuses, make sure all fuses are good, then move on to the signal light switch, brake lights run through signal switch but this sounds like a fuse or the switch.

Check fuses, I believe that the WJ's (99-04) ran a separate circuit for bake lights. Not sure if they did same for the ZJ's (93-98)
