My power window on my 87 suburban tailgate is in the down position and wont go up,click, pop or do anything! how do i get the glass out to check for a bad motor?

You may have to remove the track assembly to free the glass from the tracks, then get at the motor. Try locate the motor connector wiring on the door panel and put 12V directly to the motor at that point, if the motor doesen't move its either jammed or bad.

You will need to remove the inside panel of the door. The easier way is to get a copy of the Haynes auto repair manual for an '87 Chrysler fifth avenue at your local parts store and follow the detailed instructions.

How to replace headlight bulb in 1987 toyota camra

For an 87 specifically, I don't know the answer, sorry. There were at least 3 designs used in the 93-94 models alone. If it is anything like them, you have to either

- press in the plastic barb clip on the centre of the wiring connector at the back of the globe housing, and pull down on the wiring connector to disconnect it. Then rotate the globe holder anticlockwise and withdraw it. Don't touch the new globe glass with your fingers, or if you have, clean it well with metho. Then installation is in reverse. Or for a different design,

- alternatively, unplug the electrical connector. Then turn the hard plastic cover, at the back of the headlight globe holder, anticlockwise and remove it. Then remove the rubber cover underneath. If you are replacing an outer bulb remove the bulb spring clip, first taking note of how it is fitted. On an inner globe there may be a covering socket over the globe itself. Remove that, and the spring clip underneath. Replace the globe. Installation is in reverse, making sure all bits are in position, and the 'lock' mark on the hard plastic cover is facing upwards.

How do you remove the glass from the side mirror enclosure?

Hi, this mirror glass is held in with plastic tabs, in a circular pattern, on the back side of the mirror.Wearing proper gloves, simply grab the glass behind the black backing, and pull out on it, BE CAREFUL OF BROKEN GLASS. Once the glass is out, remove any wires that may be attached, by simply pulling them off of the connectors, replace the glass, and pop back in.

I cant open the glass on my back hatch any suggestions?

The glass hatch release handles fail all the time on these models (which is why the system was eliminated in 2009 models).

The glass hatch handle is $32 list from the dealer.

Removal and replacement requires a philips screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet with extension.

Open the glass hatch by manually activating it through the access hole on the inside of the tailgate (small square panel covering it)

Remove the two philips screws and the one pop fastener holding the plastic trim on the back of the glass hatch handle area.

Remove the two 10mm nuts holding the handle on, unplug the wire and remove, noting the routing of the wiring on removal.

Reassemble in opposite order, being sure to route the wiring correctly.

How do you remove the rear glass on a 1997 dodge dakota. I am in need of replacing my broken glass.

You can start by pulling the interior back by the rear window. There are two tabs on both ends on the bottom frame, you can bend them straight.Try to pull the bottom of the window out and watch out for the hinges to carefully lift up the window itself.

Driver mirror

the mirror glass just pops ono a ball stud. 2 jack screws go in or out by tiny electric motors. 2 friction pins go into plastic holes to prevent vibration.

Removal
  1. Position the mirror glass to obtain a gap at the lower inboard edge of the mirror assembly.
  2. Disengage the power mirror motor jackscrews from the mirror backing plate.
  3. syj~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif WARNING: Place a shop towel between the mirror glass and the hand to avoid personal injury in the instance of glass breakage.
Remove the mirror glass by grasping the outboard edge of the glass and separate it from the mirror housing.
    • If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector
