The oil drain plug on an 01 Mitsubishi Diamante LS is a 21mm. No. You can not use an adjustable wrench as the pan has a recess where the bolt goes. No it is not a 17mm. All drain plugs are on the bottom of the oil pan genius. Dont answer the questions unless you KNOW the answer.
Hi, Get some tape - mark each spark plug wire with a piece of tape long enough to go around the plug wire and an extra 2 inches - -on that two inches left over - write the cylinders on the tape with a majig marker - 1 2 3 4 5 6 and so forth - then put the wire back on the plug. For settings - call the dealer of the car with the VIN number in hand. They will tell you of any changes and the exact plug to buy. Thanks Gary Rice
One of two things needs to happen...
There should be a small "reset" button you have to use a ball point pin or something like a toothpick, on the face of the radio. With the sterio in the on position, push and hold for a couple seconds.
Second, call your local Mitsu dealer "parts dept" with your VIN number. They should be able to supply a generic code. :-)
The drain plug is on the back side of the aluminum oil pan, your going to have to use a 15 mm socket to remove the oil plug.
Good luck and here is a link to changing the oil for your escape if your have not done it before. http://fordescapefixit.com/oil.html
