About 6 to 8 starts the engine turns by won't fire. Turning off key 3 seconds then on it fire. Mercury Mountaineer 5 liter

If you mean "won't fire" to mean won't start, then: There may be a problem with the fuel pressure needing time to reach the proper pressure. Something like "pumping it up" with several tries. It could be a weak fuel pump, a tiny hole in the fuel supply line, or a fuel pressure regulator. It seems like the fuel system has lost pressure upon being off. There may be other things as well, but these are the most likely causes.

1996 2.0l. Engine turns over, but why won't it start?

What do you mean , no fire to coils ? The coils are not throwing any spark ? or no Battery + power to the coils ? If it is the latter ,check the ASD relay in fuse/relay box.

2003 dodge ram 4.7 will not start when cold out fires then starter kicks out

When you say starter kicks out, does that mean that it will not even turn over anymore than once? Have you tried spraying quick start at all?

No fire all the time

Fire--means what?

You have a NO START Condition-- most of the time

Your going to have to do some testing

What are you missing?
Spark or Fuel -when it won't start

I would put my money on a failed fuel pump
Check the fuel pressure

2004 grand am se v6 sometimes wont start unless gas pedal is pushed

when you say -turn over do you mean firing-turning over to me means the starter motor is cranking or turning over-firing is when combustion happens in the cylinders-as far as the cranking continuing-try some wd40 in the ignition switch-it may be hanging up-Denny

Wtha is the firing order

Firing order refers to the order in which each piston in an engine reaches the start of its power stroke and the spark plug fires. For example a typical firing order for a V8 engine might be 18436572, meaning first the #1 cylinder fires, then the #8, then the #4, and so on until the #2 cylinder fires and the process starts over with the #1 cylinder. Firing order is not necessarily the same for all engines.

Replaced:plugs, wiresdistributor, fuel pump.truck wouldn't start before but now it starts but i am getting po135,po141,po147.po300 codes

P0135 means 0xygen heater circuit malfunction, P0141 mean 02 heater circuit bank1 sensor 2 (this is catalytic monitor) P0147 means 02 heater sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 3, P0300 is random misfire. You will get all the 02 code because of the misfire correct the misfire and the 02 should correct. We will start with the plug wire and make sure the firing order is correct 1996 chevy blazer that will make it a 4.3 engine size check the firing order firing order is 165432 also check the coil (it has a tendency to short you will know if it is) cansmo_181.gifcansmo_182.gifmake sure the distributor rotation is check

On a hot day my car won't start.some one told me it was my distributer.could that make my car not start?

Depends on what you mean by "no start". Is it that it will crank over and not fire or will not do anything? Will it happen after driving from a cold condition(meaning, first start of the day it will fire but after driving it has issues)? How is your maintenance and what has been done recently? Please let me know.
