I am swapping out new used engine for my shot out engine in my 1991 toyota 4Runner. my question is, which is better to take out old engine with transmisssion attached or to leave transmission in vehicle. part of what i am wondering is it easier to reattach and align transmission on engine going in out of the vehicle or is it not too much trouble inside the vehicle?

With economy being good or bad we have to save money where we can, and you can save hundreds and possibly even thousands of dollars by getting used engines or used transmissions to repair your car or truck. Some of the people believe that used engines or transmissions fails to match up with the performance given by new ones. However, its not true few weeks back I have purchased a used car engine Automotix and now my car is running very smoothly without any inconvenience.

Swapping an engine need a lots technical experience in this field, as doing it yourself could be a challenge. I would suggest you hire the services of a certified technician while doing this and have them swap or replace your engine. You learn further about this process by visiting http://www.hiperformer.com/installation-guide.html which serves as an installation guide for all diesel or gasoline car engines.

I want to put my 1991 3.0 ,4runner motor into my much cleaner 1994 4runner,will it mount up?

Unless its the same model engine, probably not. But in the case it may have same mount location and same housing locations of attached components (air pump, alternator, transmission, etc) your looking at a headache with engine modifications that just aren't worth it.

I want to take the 3.0 liter out of my 94 4runner and put a 2.4 liter in can that be done

Yes it can but you must switch over all the wiring and the computer as well. This is really a difficult job. You are better to use the correct engine rather than do the swap, which by the way will not likely pass smog if you have inspections.

1994 4runner swapped engine 3.0 to a 1990 3.0 everything hooked up good. Spits fuel out the intake. 1992 is a 2wd and 1990 is a 4wd. Is it ECU issue?

dont think so ?have you used the old 94 manifolds etc this happens with timing or valves sticking open ? would need more info about 1990 engine ie did you hear it run before change ????

1991 toyota 4runner new trany leals oil from between the engine and trany only when hot. does this trany have a vent line, where is it. is there problems with the input shaft seal??? please help

I beleive its going to be your input shaft seal. Even if a new one was installed, some times on installation can get messed up. If you had the tranny job done in a shop and still under warranty, take it back, they should fix it no charge.

good luck

Are the parts from a 1990 toyota 4 runner interchangeable with a 1991 4 runner? I'm not looking to swap the engine, just the exhaust system, power window motors and such.

most parts from 90-95 will interchange. also, alot of parts from the pickups during those years are interchangeable with the 4runner.
