Where is my upstream O2 sensor on 2006 Monte Carlo?

I keep getting bank 1 too rich codes (3 times cleared) so I am going to change the upstream O2 sensor and just wanted a heads up to where it's at? Thanks

oxygen sensor, vacuum leak, and yes it could most definitly be if you swaped the wires of the firing order accidently you will get a code p0171 Check the tubing going from the air filter to the intake manifold to see if it has come loose. This might account for extra air going into the intake manifold than the computer is aware of. Otherwise it may be due to a faulty(or dirty) MAP/MAF sensor. Another possible cause is from low fuel pressure due to restricted fuel lines or a bad fuel pump.

Lack of HO2S-11 Switch, Sensor Indicates Rich A HEGO sensor indicating rich at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-lean condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time. I would change both of the upstream (before the catalytic converter) O2 sensors (cylinder bank 0ne and two). 9 times out of ten this is the right guess to fix this code.

Can an O2 oxygen sensor effect another sensor and give a false reading?


Check which side of your engine has cylinder #1. That side is bank 1. Bank 2 is the side opposite of bank 1. So bank 2 is not always passenger side. And since you seem to have extra O2 sensors, I would replace the other upstream and see what happens. Also the mass air sensor can give a trouble code issue to the upstream 02 sensors. Good luck. I've struggled thru this myself.

bank 1 sensor 2 is not the upper sensor, it is behind the cat converter, replace it, disconnect the battery and go drive it to somewhere to have the codes cleared. It will relearn the fuel table to run properly

Does Changing a P1151 and P0175 on a ford Wind star solve the problems associated with it?


P1151 is indicating an problem with the upstream O2 Sensor on Bank 2. Bank 2 is the even cylinders side O2 sensor. The P0175 code indicates a rich condition in Bank 2 exhaust. This indication, if by itself, would indicate a faulty MAF Sensor or a vacuum leak, but since you already have the P1151, change the Bank 2 O2 sensor first and most likely both codes will clear.

2000 navigator system too lean


Too Lean on which Bank of the Motor?

To have a lean O2 Code --you could have a rich fuel
condition & the pcm drove the fuel trim lean

Next you could have a vacuum leak-in the intake or exhaust system

Third you could have a failed O2 Sensor

Front or Upstream Oxygen Sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles

The front sensors are on the exhaust pipe between the motor &
the converter.

Will need a long handled flex head O2 Sensor Wrench

there is nothing wrong with the timing chain position . Just a series of sensors that have gone outside the set parameters so if you check and change each one you will clear the faults.

Replace the upstream oxygen sensor or two, if that
is what you have.

The ones closest to the motor

That should have been done at 100,000 miles

You don't need a mechanic to unscew an O2 Sensor
