you may have to pull the fan off the shaft to get to the screws. If this is the case most fans just push on tight so a small bearing puller in close to the fan hub should do the trick

Where is the blower fan resistor located on a 2003 BMW 325i? Or how easy is it to replace?

Hi David,

The blower fan resistor is located on the passenger side of the a/c case. The glove box needs to be removed. There are about 8 screws that hold it in place. Once the glove box is removed, look toward the back of the a/c case and you will find a stepper motor with an actuating rod held in place with 2 T20 torx screws and has a rubber guide that aligns it to the case. Behind that stepper motor you will see the blower resistor harness connector. It is trapazoid in shape and has 5 wires. The resistor also has 2 T20 torx screws holding it in place as well as a plastic tab that must be move slightly to the side for the resistor to be fully removed. The replacement takes about 30-45 minutes. Just take your time. Most dealers charge 1.5 to 2.0 hrs for the repair time.

How to remove the heater blower fan on 92 chevy 1500

1991-92 R/V and 1991-98 C/K Series
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Remove the instrument panel glove compartment.
  4. Tag and unplug all electrical leads as necessary.
  5. Remove the center air distribution duct from the floor.
  6. If necessary, remove the ECM and mounting tray.
  7. Remove the hinge pillar trim panels.
  8. Remove the blower motor cover and then remove the motor.
  9. Remove the steering wheel and tilt back the instrument panel slightly.
  10. Remove the coolant overflow tank. Disengage the heater hoses at the core connections.
  11. Unfasten the attaching screws and nut and then remove the heater case.
  12. Remove the seven screws and lift off the heater case cover.
  13. Remove the fasteners and brackets that hold the heater core to the case and lift the core from the case.
To install:
  1. Install the heater core in the case.
  2. Install the heater case bottom plate. Make sure there is a good seal.
  3. Install the heater case into the truck. Tighten the 4 lower screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm); the upper screw to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm); and the nuts to 25 inch lbs. (2.8 Nm).
  4. Connect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  5. Install the coolant overflow tank.
  6. Install the instrument panel and the steering wheel.
  7. Install the blower motor and cover.
  8. Install the trim panels and if removed, the ECM. Install the air distribution duct and reconnect all electrical leads.
  9. Install the glove compartment. Fill the cooling system and connect the battery cable.

1992-98 Models
(see Figure 4)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right rear quarter panel trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical lead at the fan.
  4. Remove the screws and if equipped, the cooling tube.
  5. If necessary, remove the fan retaining nut and lift out the blower fan.
  6. Remove the blower motor.
To install:
  1. Install the blower motor and then position the fan.
  2. Install the retaining nut and then tighten the mounting screws to 12 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  3. If removed, install the cooling tube.
  4. Connect the electrical lead. Install the quarter panel trim cover.
  5. Connect the battery cable.

I need to replace the heater fan. How do I do it and where is the fuse located?

Chevrolet pickup trucks utilize an electric heaterfan to push hot air into the cab. Hot engine coolant leaves the engine andflows through a heater hose to the heater core, a small copper brass oraluminum radiator mounted in the vehicle's firewall. The heater fan blows airducted either from the passenger compartment or outside the vehicle, over theheater core's fins, drawing heat off the core. Electric or vacuum-controlleddoors in the interior heating system's ducting controls whether the hot air isblown at the floor, dashboard vents or against the windshield.

? On a Chevy pickup, the heater fan is locatedalong the firewall inside the passenger side fender. Stand in front of thevehicle and look at the air-conditioning condenser mounted on the engine.Follow the hoses that lead back toward the air-conditioning coil. The hoseswill connect to a large fiberglass box bolted to the firewall---this is theheater case. If your vehicle was not originally equipped with air conditioning,follow the heater hoses back to the fiberglass box. The heater fan will bemounted on the left side of the heater case (your left not the vehicle's) justbehind the fender well. Removal
Beginby disconnecting the ground cable from the negative battery terminal. Loosenthe bolt on the clamp and pull the ground cable off the negative batteryterminal. Locate the heater fan and disconnect the positive and negativeelectrical leads. Take notice of which terminal on the electrical motor theblack wire is connected to. Black wiring in automotive applications representnegative or ground. The wires must be installed on the new motor in the sameposition as they were on the old. They will be attached with plastic connectorsthat can simply be pulled off the contacts. The heater fan is bolted to the heatercase with three or four hex head screws. Remove these screws and pull theelectric motor straight out. With the motor removed, you will be able to seethe plastic fan blades mounted on the back side of the motor. Remove theretaining nut that connects the fan blades to the electric motor and pull theblades off. Installation
? Installation is the reverse of removal. Beginby reattaching the fan blade to the electric motor and reinstalling theretaining nut. Then slide the heater fan assembly back into position in theheater case. Reinstall the three to four hex head screws that secure the case.Then reconnect the positive and negative electrical leads, making sure toconnect the black wire to the negative terminal. Finally, reconnect the groundcable to the negative battery terminal.

If the fan works in the rear and not in the front my solution maybe your issue, if this is not the case disregard. On the passenger side under the dash on the heater/ac ducting there is a cluster of 3 or 4 wires going to a connect that is held in place with two screws, remove the screws and get another one and this should fix your front air blower.

How do you replace the evaporator core for the a/c? on a 1994 gmc p/u truck, I've already have the dash out having promblems removing the duct work, what's next? or is there a maunal that will show me.

your instructions are on how to replace the condenser on a 1994 gmc sierra but the title says it is the directions for replacing an evaporator. please correct your title.

Hi if your internal fan not work in any position well i fixed up myself easy and save your money.
locate the fan motor air just outside right courtesy drawn document in front of passenger. go from down and look up you will see a motor with a big connector white with 2 screw secure inside the motor block. loose the two screws and pull out gently the connector from motor fan block. you will see a green multiresistor connected with this big connector. Usually the first + voltage connector is burnet out. disconnect the connector pull from resistor and check for any burn. in my case the first pin was burned out completely
you can buy another connector or you can clean the burned connector take out form connector weld a small copper cable of 5 mm dia from resistor to the burn cable and reconnect the connector without buy a new one. after replace again the resistor in the hole of motor blow with the 2 screw.
Done all work again without buy another new connector.

When i get to 55 mph i hear i popping in the front.Ive replaced both cv joints and a wheel bearing,but it didnt help.Iinspected the spider gears but they were fine.I disconnected the front drive shaft now...

Check the front differential for proper spacing inside, also the bearings. Then check the homocinetic joint right behind the front diff. on the drive shaft. If all of them are fine, open the oil screw at the transfer case, drain the oil and check if there are some metal in it. After draining the oil out, use a flat screw driver, insert it into the transfer case (be careful!!) to locate the drive chain. check if there she is very loose ( if you can slide the chain more than 1/2" it need to be replaced). To rule out the transfer case, disconnect the rear drice shaft (U-Joint on rear diff. and then slide them out of the case), disconnect the front drice shaft right on the transfer case (U-Joint), disconnect the shifter and any wiring you find on the case, remove the bolts from the chassie and then remoce the bolts between the case and the auto transmission and slide the case backward till you have it in your hand. Install a new or rebuilt one the same way back, fill it with auto trasmssion fluid as told in the user manual. Do not overfill the case and do not use other fluid as in the user/service manual.
