What are and were the codes? Were the catalytic converters replaced? Sounds like the typical clogged cats. It could be the cats broke apart and clogging the exhaust system. My scanner tells me much.

oxygen sensors buddy, and there is two of them. one above the engine and under. you have to cut it enough to where you can splice and re wire another sensor on.

2009 f150 when driving with cruise the truck has accelerated to 90 mph on its on twice had brakes on and had to cut truck off

This is a trip to the dealer or a mechanic that has a IDS test unit.
The only thing I can think of is the feed back from the Throttle position sensor is not being read correctly ( at a given moment in time ) and the throttle motor is being increased to adjust the mph back to the set position.

Not much can be done to the CC system without the IDS test unit, only the set buttons to be tested and the disconnect switch can be tested, every beyond this is PCM controlled.

I just had this problem on a 2001 elantra. I took it in for repair: the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure/ intake air temp) sensor was shot. $150 later it works just fine.

I had the exact problem with my wifes 99 Cabrio - parked for 9 months. Ended up having to have the shop reprogram the ECU - it then worked fine.
