Unless they've changed things drastically.....the thermostadt is under a little bell casting that is bolted down..this bolted down bell casting is at the end of a Black hose that comes from your radiator..

TaDa...don't change it hot, and make sure you use a HIGH TEMP. gasket sealer, but don't get any gasket sealer in the thermostadt's working parts AT ALL.

Hope this helps,

Thanks from FixYa.com

I have a 98 ford windstar..heat doesnt work...will only blow cold air, but engine temp. stays normal, when i turn on heat it only blows at window vent..what can this be?

It could be your heating coil. It seems that your fan is running (at least to the outside vents). Since your temp. is fine there is probable not a problem with your coolant. As far as it not blowing through the vents in the middle couldn't tell you.

two things you may try, relocate ambient sensor to colder place, remove it from front bumper, and connect the two wires on refregerant temp sensor located @ rear of compressor, be carefull and observe your a/c system after doing this

Ac compressort had to be replaced because it seized up. AC ran good for 2 weeks then went out, now the heater doesnt want to work half the time. i dont know if its my heater coil, a leak in my ac lines,...

THE BLEND DOOR THAT CONTROLS HOT TO COLD SWITCHING IS STICKING. THE CONTORL HEAD IS ELECTRIC AND MAY BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. HEAT AND AC ARE 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SYSTEMS EXCEPT FOR THE CONTROLLER UNDER YOUR RADIO. HEATER COIL IS REALLY A HEATER CORE WHICH IS A LITTLE RADIATOR INSIDE THE CAR BEHIND THE DASHBOARD.

2000 lincoln ls heater not working...thermostat?

- If temp guage reads normal, the lack of heat may be due to the Heater Control Valve. Located in front of the radiator. Lower passenger side. A real bugger to replace.
- The plastic cap just over the thermostat is key in re-filling the anti freeze and bleeding air.
