in 1995 it was optional for car makers to use either OBDl or OBDll computer systems, if yours is OBDl it's under the hood, 14 pin connector on one of the strut mounting nuts, if OBDll pull out your ashtray and it will be there

SOURCE: code 17 states that my speed sencer has gone bad.

On the back of the transmission near your thermostat housing. Move your air intake tube and you'll see it down there. There will be two rubber power steering hoses running to it and a plug & wires.

My 1996 honda accord check engine light came on and it started to idle like the spark plugs have went bad. can you give me an idea of what the problem might be?

Not yet. The check engine light coming on is letting you know that the self diagnostic function of the engine computer has detected a problem and set a trouble code. That code can be read by a code reader. Most major auto parts stores have these code readers and will read your code for free. The code number can tell you/us where to start looking for the problem.

1991 honda accord idles funny and feels like its running hard at about 60 mph check engine light also comes on once i hit that speed

Remove the pass side kick panel (Plastic Part) that would be near the right of the passenger's foot. Locate a small blue plug. You jump the terminals together inside the plug with a paper clip. THEN, turn your key ignition on to power up everything but don't engage the starter. Count the amount of times the check engine light flashes. It's like morse code. A solid longer blink indicates the amount of the first number... a quicker flash will indicate the second number. Here's an example: ___ _ _ _ _ That would be code 14. Let me know what code you get and write back... I don't have room to list every code for 90-91 Accord. I'll check back frequently.

check your oil level it may be a vtec related fault code, failing that it will need to be plugged into a code reader.

Maintenance Indicator turned to red

you have to plug a code reader into your OBD1 slot below the steering wheel (if you have one), once you get a code you can look up what that code means online or if you get a fancy code reader it might tell what the code means

advance auto should be able to get you a code reader, if you dont want to buy a code reader you have to take it in to a shop, if your car is running fine you might not have to worry about it.
