Question about Chevrolet Cars & Trucks

2004 Trailblazer, now the brake lights wont work!

I also have a 2004 Trailblazer that had the low beam issue. I came on here and saw the suggestion to switch the #45 relay with #46, and it worked until just recently. So I went to NAPA autoparts and purchased a new relay. It worked at first, but then on the way home people pulled up next to me and said my break lights were out except for the top rear tail light. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the responses. The problem is that the bulbs worked up until I put the new relay in. Now the headlights work sometimes, and the brakes not at all. However the brake lights hand no issues before I put the replacement in.

The brake lights can be the multi switch (turn signal wiper switch) or could be a ground wire issue if you're having problems with the headlights. Good luck.

SOURCE: Low Beam headlights not working

The daytime running lights run the high beam bulbs at low voltage so it sounds like you need to put the relays back where they were and either replace the low beam bulbs or repair the wiring to them. Also the relay you removed could be defective.

SOURCE: 2004 envoy xuv low beams went out all other lights work checked fuses and switched relays 45 and 46 and still not working any ideas?

Try to see if the bulbs blew out by replacing the bulbs first. If they still won't light, it could be bad grounds or connections or bad continuity in the wiring to the headlight relays or switch. Good luck on this repair.

SOURCE: 2004 envoy xuv low beams dont work switched fuses 45 and 46 still nothing any ideas

Other possibilities are; the bulbs themselves, burnt or corroded bulb sockets, or a bad headlight selector switch.

Lowbeam headlights wont work, brake lights are out and check engine light is on...changed th dimmer switch, no luck

For the low beam problem, Swap relays 45 & 46 in the underhood fuse panel. Relay 46 is for the Low Beams. If that fixes the light, replace the relay that cam out of position 46.
Since the high mounted brake light is working, that indicates that the brake switch is good. You need to check the bulbs in the rear tail light assembly, if they are good, check fuse #34.

Low beams on 2004 chevy trailblazer wont work but high beams work fine.lights all work automaticly

Try changing the bulbs. No. They didn't both burn out at once. You probably drove for a while with one headlight, and didn't know it.

Both Low beam headlights aren't working in my 2002

my suggestion is that you check/ replacr the HDM(headlight driver module) relay in the main fuse box located under the hood near the battery.

The brake lights and low beam head lights do not work

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If they both went out at the same time, you need to check your wiring harness. Check the wires with a voltage meter and see which ones are not getting power. Check for loose connections and make sure all ground wires are grounded properly. The grounds will be black. If they didn't go out at the same time, as for the brake lights, you may have a bad brake switch. It is located above your brake pedal. As for the low beam lights, it may be your actual light switch that is broke. Always be sure to unplug your battery when working on electrical wires. Thanks for using FixYa and have a good night.

Both of my low beams just stopped working at once. High beams work fine, and bulbs seem to be good. We've replaced the fuses also, and it hasn't worked. what would cause the low beams to both just quit...

The headlight relay has probably failed. This relay is in the underhood fuse box. There are typically two of the same relays in there, so you can swap the low-beam relay for the high-beam relay to verify the problem before you shell out $30 for new relay.

2004 trailblazer. Low beam headlights go out while driving at night for no apparent reason. Saw other posts like this on other sites. How do I fix it and are they doing a recall for this? Thanks

I read over the recalls and they do have recalls on brake and turn signal lights but not the low beam headlights while driving at night.

Sounds like the relay or headlamp driver module relay 46, for the headlights is going bad, though.
Or, it could alternatively be bad grounding of wire somewhere or bad wiring in general.

I would check in the underhood fuse box for the relay and see if wiggling it to ensure a good connection helps matters.
