Have all the rubber bushings inspected in the front and rear suspension, pay close attention to the rubber bushings of the front and rear sway bars, the are the ones that commonly make the noise

SOURCE: I hit a hole backing

This could be a few things, first try switching a rear tire to the front and see if that helps, you may have bent the rim but you would need to look at it and see is the rim is bent then look at the tie rod end to see if its bent, you could have bent the strut or lower control arm too. i would take a look at the tie rod end and see if its bent, here the thing, you say it wobbles and pulls, a tie rod end or strut or control arm will make the car pull but not wobble, a wobble would be caused by a bent rim or tire witth a bubble and this can make the car pull, tire putting the spare tire on and see if it still pulls and wobbles, if it doesnt then you know its the rim or tire, hope this helps.

The left rear suspension is like a buckboard when travelling over even a modest bump or dip in the road. It hits hard.

check the springs and the shock absorber, your shock will almost certainly need replacing, servicing if you are lucky and it is the
serviceable type.

Rear knocking 2000 impala

A broken sway bar will also manifest itself while driving over an uneven or washboard-like road surface. A clanking or clunking sound will emanate from the front or rear suspension. Broken sway bars will emit knocking and scraping noises over potholes and dips, sometimes rhythmically. This happens when a sway bar bushing joint swings freely without support and strikes the chassis frame or control arm. Hope this helps.

Mr. Craigie, The front suspension of the grand Vitara has low Suspension with Lower Wishbones mounted on rubber mountings which mostly the rear round mounting rubber splits. Since you said that you hit a bump ,check carefully the rubber mounting. Also check the shock Absorber on both front sides and see whether if any one seized.

Rubbing noise in front end when car sits going over a dip, also when engine is braking, noise comes and goes

most likely you will find that there is a plastic gard up above the tyre. if it has come lose then sometimes one end of it can flop down and rub aainst the tyre. this will usually happen when you go through a dip because the suspension let the tyre go closer to the gard at the same time the plastic bit hangs lower as the car goes through the dip. when my car did this I also found that when I tok my foot off the accelerator the front of the car would drop down causing the suspension to do the same thing as when it goes through a dip. also some corners and and uneven roads do the same thing.

There was a recall on a control arm in the front suspension a while back. This could be the source of the sound. Hope this helps.

Just replaced rear shocks at Pepboys and now the suspension is making a clicking noise when I hit dip or hump. What could be causing this?

Improper installation, but most likely the noise you are hearing is a result of wear that happened before you had the shocks installed and the noise just became apparent when teh suspension was repaired.

Clunking and knocking noise from rear when hitting bumps.

-it could be the sawy bar linkages
-but also check to see if the struts are leaking or that it looks damp
-but because you said it doesn't look like it bouncing when you hit a dip most likely it could be that the struts are dead
-check to see the cars ride hieght that would give you a clue
