To access this part of the intake manifold, you will nedd to remove the cosmetic covers on teh top of the engine. there are a total of 4 screws, all 10 mm, that need to be removed, under teh round caps in the cover.

SOURCE: 2002 z3 bmw - mass air flow sensor???

Hello There

Having driven many BMW's for the last 15 years, my advice is to remove the cold intake and go back to the factory original, the car runs alot smoother and the fuel economy is much better. the chapest way of doing this is to buy a second hand one from ebay etc as well as buying the original MAF sensor.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

I have a 2002 hundai santa fe 2.4l with p00113 code,How to check intake air tempeture sensor?

Before I give you my answer I need to advise you, if you have an aftermarket/performance air intake, it will trip an IAT code pretty often, you will either have to live with it or try to find a "dummy" sensor (a fake IAT sensor designed for cold air intakes that will make your engine computer think the incoming air is a certain temperature) if you dont have an intake:

Chances are if the IAT code is coming up (assuming you do not have a cold air intake system) your IAT sensor is probably bad. There is a very long and tedious process of testing the sensor and the circuit for the sensor, but with the average price of a new IAT sensor being around $12 I pretty much always suggest just replacing the sensor. On your vehicle the IAT is part of the mass air sensor assembly, but can be replaced independanlty, and shouldn't be a very difficult replacement.

I have a 1997 Nissan Mistral which goes off on idle speed and engine ckeck light goes on at times

ok, in Nissan they use MAF sensors to measure air intake volume. if it is broken it cant idle correctly(or if you have crack on intake manifolt or a torn part in hoses after maf sensor it cant idle). if you have a scanner or acces to scanner please scan for code.

before sdcanning please spray some brake pad cleaner to engine bay from differnt angles and try to realize sound and vibraitonchanges on engine. if you catch anything, this means there is a vacuum leak and it is getting excess air. you need to fix crack by glueing or replacing part.

03 SL500 REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, COILS STILL MISFIRES ON 1 WHAT ELSE?

Switch spark plugs, ignition coils and fuel injectors from cyl 1 to 3.
See if misfire goes to cyl. 3. If that happens replace the damaged part.
If is still on cyl. 1 check the compression of the cyl. 1.
If that's ok see if the air mass sensor is working fine.
Also check if there is oil in the plug of the lambda sensor.

IAT sensor

The IAT (Intake Air Temperture) is the sensor that measures the temp of the incoming air to the engine, it is either in the rubber hose to the engine from the air filter housing, or on the air filter housing itself, it is small and round with 2 wires going to it, many times it is left unplugged during routine maintenance.
