Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan and the turn signal just do not work the hazard lights do and when I click for the turn signal I do not get any clicking sound whatsoever. I cannot find any fuses that are labeled turn signal or flashers only the hazard fuse is a while back before the turn signal stopped working altogether they would not work when the vehicle was cold once it started warming up then the turn signals work but now they don't work at all is this a fuse issue or is it the whole turn signal housing that controls it?

SOURCE: 1996 Dodge Caravan 3.8 V6 ...the turn signal

you may have a second flasher unit , one for the emergency flashers and one foe the turn signals, some Caravans do . if yours doesn't happen to be one of them, you have a short in the switch itself, and will need to remove the steering wheel to replace it,, be careful, and follow the instructions for air bag safety when working with anything near the air bag,, remove the neg battery terminal first ,, then the positive,, and wait 10 minutes before doing anything else, this gives the system to discharge . when your done, hook up the battery in the reverse order

SOURCE: turn signals and hazard don't work

Next best guess is the flasher unit has failed, this could be your little blue box, pick up a replacement at any auto parts store and replace it.

SOURCE: Have hazard lights but no running or turn signals

sounds like you need a combo flasher assembly..located in fuse block inside vehicle under steering column..there may be a plastic cover under dash you have to remove to see fuse block..large black relay that plugs into fuse block..if you pick up a new one,you will see what it looks like..available at dodge dealer..combo flasher or drl/signal relay

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

Sounds like the turn signal flasher (lighting control module). It is used for both the turn signals and the hazard flashers. There is one type for cars with DRL and one for cars without DRL.

On a 2000 dodge caravan the left turn signal rarely works sometimes it will come on but not to often and the right sometimes works and other times doesn't work. the hazard lights work. bulbs and fuses have...

If the hazard lights work it has to be the multi function turn switch, if you look on line they are about $40, there are 3 phillips headed screws under the cowling, the top then unclips and there are 2 more holding the switch in, depress the detent and slide out the plug, reverse this for assembly.
