SOURCE: 2005 chevy express ,radio stays

There is a relay under the dash that turns the power to the radio off. I bet that the windows will roll down too, even after the key is off. If so the relay is not opening and will need replaced.

2005 chevy express 3500 door light and radio stay on when you turn van off take the key out and open the door. how to fix

This Van has a system in it called delayed exit, this means the radio and other accessories stay on for a time as long as none of the doors are opened, when the door is opened the module senses that switch in the door is activated and shuts everything off. The easy way to test this is open the passenger door, if all shuts off you found the problem, the driver door switch is defective. the switch is attached to the door lock inside the door.

The screen for the DVD player in our 2006 up lander will not turn off. It is draining our battery how can we disconnect so the screen can turn off

mine does the same thing, theres a switch inside the drivers door that is going bad..turn the key off slowly with the drivers door closed.then open the door and get out, close the door, .if the radio stays on go to he passanger door open and close it, if that does not work you have to discontect the battery under the hood each time you get it..the van is junk, sell it as soon as you can!

My battery keeps getting drained and I dont know why

It is most likely the voltage regulator sticking after the car has been cut off.Have your alternator checked or replace the voltage regulator. If it drains over night it is the voltage regulator.

Battery went dead replaced it with new one and now that is dead.Noticed my van when parked and shut off that door locks were clicking, speedometer needle was moving.Prior to all of this happening alarm...

Something is staying on and draining your battery. It is common for all of those things to happen when the battery gets low. Those things are all controlled by the body computer, which will do all kinds of crazy things (including set-off the theft alarm - honking horn, flashing lights, locking and unlocking doors, etc.) when the battery gets low.

You need to have your vehicle tested for what is called an "Ignition-Off Draw" it may be something as simple as a glove box light staying on or a vanity mirror light in the sun visor that is not turning off properly. It could also be something considerably harder to pinpoint like a relay that has sticking contacts. A competent auto repair technician should be able to determine at least which main circuit is causing the problem within an hour. (There may be further diagnosis/vehicle disassembly involved in actually fixing the problem, but within an hour, they should have a pretty good idea of what needs to be fixed.)

The fuse box is out of my car right now because when i left it in, the indoor lights would not shut off, resulting in my battery dying. this happened twice. since the fuse box is not in the car right now,...

Sounds like one of the door switches is faulty causing the interior lights to stay on. Is anything else not working?
The first thing to try with this is to clean all of the contacts on the doors. Does it give any indication that a door is open?
There are three slider rollers on each slider door that roll in a rail. Most of the time these wear out (they are plastic teflon or something) and need to be replaced. It's very common to need these if one of the doors "sticks". It doesn't latch all the way and then the interior lights stay on. If it gets really bad the open door indicator will chime when you put the van in any gear but it sounds like the problem is just starting on your van.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Car dies, but when I charge the battery the 1990 trans sport van dies. first the interior lights stay on then engine won't turn off so I have to disconect the battery for the van to stop running

The interior light and ignition can not be related. Just coincidence.

The interior light has a 3 position switch, off, on with door switches, and on all the time. So either a door switch is shorted on, or the switch by the lamp is shorted to the always on position.

The ignition is weird but easily diagnosed. First check that the ignition switch itself turns on and off, by using a test light.
If that is normal, then take out the ignition control unit and have a place like Autozone test it. It has a relay the ignition switch is supposed to turn on and off, and it could stick on, even after switch is off.

Interrior lights stay on

are your dasboard lights at full brightness?Turn your headlight switch(it may be on the interior light detent).BTW I drive a '97 Bonneville SE and one great thing about these cars is that if you leave a light on it will shut off after about 5 minutes so it won't drain your battery overnight.

Inside door lights stay on after engine is turned off

Check all doors for a sticking door open sense switch. Check all over-riding interior light activation switches are off. If all the above are ok, check for a sticking interior light relay.
