Check to see if the power steering pump is still turning. If you have a broken drive belt (serpentine belt or "fan" belt), and the pump doesn't turn, you have no power assist. If the pump is still turning, check the fluid level in the reservoir.

SOURCE: ABS bleeding technique on GMC Yukon

If you forced the pads back into the calipers without loosening the bleeders you probably forced gunk into the abs modulator valves. Sometimes doing the automated bleed proceedure (need Tech or Bi Directional Scanner) will bring things back to life.

SOURCE: where can I find a diagram of the brake lines for

If it's a metal line, Your local auto parts store should be able to order it for you or worst case you'll have to make your own from straight tubbing and a bender. I don't recall ever seeing diagrams for metal lines, usually there pre made to replace the factory one or you can splice a replacement piece in place of a damaged section. AS far as the line goes to the module, try following it up to it with a good flahlight and a sharppe from the rear forward.

so let me get this straight-you had a brake line that rusted through and you are replacing it from like the rear block that separates the rear wheels to the abs unit and you lose which line is which when it passes around a body mount and goes up the firewall. what I would do is push and or pull that line-take it out of the clips that hold it along the way-tracking until you reach your destination-brake lines are a nasty job-ask your auto parts guy about the newer more flexible brake line that can be bent by hand-they are wonder full-also I make all the connections up with a flanger flair tool and you should get a small pipe cutter so so the ends will be nice and straight-cheers Denny

It's so much easier to hook up a scanner to read the ABS codes than trying to guess, the brake lite comes on when the fluid is low or your e-brake is on, only takes one click to activate the light.

I have a 2003 yukon xl that has the ABS light on and the brake light also on, also on the message box were the mileage appears it says service brake system

check brake fluid level first- if low add , second - look at wheels - if a lot of black/brown buildup on wheel- wheel cylinder could be leaking- warning lights tend to come on for a fluid problem

My abs light along with the (!)(p) lights come on regularly. I just had a full bread job done including the parking brake shoes and this problem still ocurrs.

generally when a abs light and the brake lights come on its related to a intermittant wheel sensor issue or the ABS module. Only by following the manufactures procedures for the code stored will anyone get to the source of the problem.

I have a 2002 gmc yukon. When i press my brakes my antilock brakes go off and stopping is tough. what could this be?

you need to connect a diagnosing scan tool and go for a drive. during an ABS event, watch the values of the wheel speed sensors on the scan tool. chances are one will not be accurate, causing the abs to activate. the sensors are integral to the wheel bearings, and are changed as a complete unit. this is a common failure. good luck!

I drive a yukon xl 2001 I was driving and the ABS light came on what is the problem? What is happening

Normally the most common problem is a wheel sensor dirty or wires carroded also could have knocked off the wires if you ran over something, also could be casued by a bad PCM many things could do this so it is best to take it to a shop for repair. When the ABS light is lit the brakes go to old type braking system, which means if you slam on the brakes it will skid. So take it to a shop. If you want more info here just post to this answer and Take care hope this helps.
