SOURCE: Car won't start when it is wet

its your distributer cap, have someone look at it while you crank it and ask if they see any sparks, if its crack "just from age, or whatever the case" the plugs wont fire right causen it not to start, 20 doller project an it took me one hour, if its the problem you can do it yourself.. i think that may be your prob. it was mine and my 01 diamante ls wouldnt start in the rain or cold either

SOURCE: 2003 mitsubishi diamante thermostat

You're going to lose some coolant, so have a bucket or other container ready. Follow the upper radiator hose to the point where it's connected to the engine. The hose is clamped to a metal housing which is bolted to the engine. Remove the bolts (not the hose) and lift the housing to expose the thermostat (may require a little prying with a screwdriver or similar tool). Note how the old thermostat is fitted (which end is up), lift it out of the engine, and then remove all traces of gasket from the housing and the engine. Install the new thermostat and gasket, replace the bolts, add coolant as necessary, and you're done.

Just change starter on 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante

it is hard to tell but if you can take off your oil filler cap and look inside while someone is cranking it and you do not see the valve rocker are moving then it is your belt for sure , also if you motor spins more than normal then it is your belt but most peopl cannot tell ,the diffrance if you have a cap and rotor on your car which I do not think yo do on this year , you would pull the cap off and crank it and see if it is turning when cranked over

My 2003 mitsubishi diamante will crank but it wont start

Lots of possible answers to this but it all falls down to this basic rule with witch to always check these problems. You need three things for a motor to run. Fuel, air, and fire find the one it's not getting and you'll know what's wrong. Hope this helps Chris

1999 mitsubishi eclips, I try to start and it doesn't start, it won't crank. And I jump start the starter and the starter seam to be ok, battery ok, starter relay ok.

it could be a crank sensor, does it turn over? if it does, check for spark and fuel pressure, if it doesnt crank at all it could be an ignition switch
