If you are referring to the fan at the radiator running once you switch on the key, you may have a bad thermostat. The thermostat is located at the end of one of the radiator hoses. You should see a wire connected to it and looks like a plug. You may need a socket wrench to have it replaced.

1998 ford escort a/c blower/fan motor won't come on

Probably time for a new blower motor. Can you check for power
at the electrical connector where it's attached to the blower motor? If you have power there at the electrical connector on one of the wires it's time for a new blower motor.

Interior Fan Motor won't stop 2004 VW Touareg

Find and replace the Blower fan relay, not sure where it is on your VW but it's common to be in with the fuse box by the battery. Good luck and hope this helps. When the relay goes bad from the heat of the electrical current, it seizes and does not disengage keeping the connection causing the ran to keep running.
