I am not sure what the maintenance light means on the instrument panel? It looks like a picture of a water tank or radiator. There's fluid in the water tank and I overhauled the radiator and put in a new water pump gasket. I thought the problem was solved because the light went away for a little while. But now it's back. Anyone know what it means?
Thank you for your input. I did find out that I have a leak in my coolant tank. When I topped it off with coolant, the light turned off, but then noticed the colored fluid that would appear under my car when it was parked. I haven't checked the sensor. I will make sure to do that. I probably do need a new one anyway.

when you attempt to roll the windows down, do the interior lights flicker? or dim? or, even better wait until it is dark out side, and then go and turn on the car, and turn on the instrument cluster lights, and radio illumination lights (basically, just turn on your headlights). nowtry again. does the instrument cluster lights or radio backlights dim? if so then you know that pwoer is gettingto the right side of the windows. then the problem probably is that you need new motors for the windows [water might have screwed them up]. Now, if the lights did NOT dim, that means that no power is going there, and activating the motor. that means you might have a blown fuse...or bad depends on how old the car is. email me the specs, and i will look into it for you-Andy from Currituck, NC
yikes. its either a bad intrument cluster (All the guages in front of the steering wheel) or a bad wire in the main harness. that is not an easy one to diag. you can either find a new instrument cluster, or unplug the old one and test wires individually with a wring diagram and voltage reader. If it goes on and off ramdomly, depending on wether (temp and humidity), its probably and bad instrument cluster. If it goes on and off over bumps in the road, its probably just a loose wire or connection. Either way its a expensive and ennoying fix. If the car is older, if you can, look for a new one.
There are a few things that can cause this. Check your fuse first. Could be marked Dash. If not, you will have to check the wires in the steering column with a wire schematic. If you have a question, please write back. I am here to help. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
there are 2 large terminal plugs with the wiring for all the instruments that are plugged into the back of that panel. make sure they are snug and in place. You reach in and under but it may easier to "simply" remove the cluster. 4 screws hold it in place accessible form underneath and with a long phillips screwdriver and lighting.
look like shorted out cluster (intrument panel) get a second hand one its cheaper or body control module when it does the car dont start or goes good if it doesnt start bcm if it run bad cluster good luck pierre
The instrument panel lights staying on usually means the dimmer switch is bad (round knob next to steering column movement switch) You can usually turn the knob to a lower position and this will solve the battery issue.
Depending on whether your speedo is mechanical (uses a cable), or electronic (uses an electrical wire to carry the signal from the sender), I would look it (what's in between the speedo and trans speed sender) before replacing the instrument panel. A good service manual that includes a dash wiring diagram should help trouble shoot this problem. Good luck.
