Question about 2005 Mazda 6
Just purchased my second key fob from Ebay. The first 2 (1 original that came with car and a used one from Ebay) stopped working gradually leading me to think it was the battery. However, after replacing the battery, the key fobs could not be re-programmed. Have tried more than 20 times. After purchasing another used key fob on Ebay, it programmed successfully the very first time. I guess this one will work for 6 months or so then die on me too. But why? What goes bad inside this thing? Does anyone know what component inside the key fob goes bad and why?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Bring it to a "Batteries Plus" type store; they can repair the fob if it is ony a broken battery clip. They did it for me for free! IF it is not the fob, then bring it to a dealer??

Did you try replacing the battery in the original key chain? There is a small watch battery inside that needs replacing from time to time. Your car manual will tell you how to use the keychain after changing the battery to it.

Both of ours did that and I put a piece of scotch tape under the battery to raise it up so it made better contact. Works great and has been working like this for close to a year now. Hope it works for you.
