Where is the water pump located on a 2001 olds. Intrigue?

If the engine is sideways, it would be located on the left side of the engine by the belts. See if a hose is hooked up to it.

How do you remove the compressor on a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue? You I need to remove anything to do this? Do I remove from under the car or the hood?

I recently did mine, it is a job-remove the surge tank, the serpentine belt, headlights, the air box, carefully move the engine computer out of the way, then remove the radiator bolts and hoses, transmission lines at the radiator, and the radiator fan bolts and harness. Jack the car up on the passsenger side (use a jackstand when it is up, do not rely on the jack to hold the car up) and remove the front tire. Remove the lower air dam, then evacuate the ac system-unbolt the high pressure and low pressure lines (don't lose any parts), then the electrical harness, remove the alternator (consider getting it rebuilt since you have to go through the same process if it ever goes down) then unbolt the compressor (comes out the top or bottom, easier through the bottom though). Takes about an hour and a half, about the same or a little more to reinstall it, add another hour+ to vacuum out the system, and charge it-total of about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours, it is not an easy job.

2002 Olds Intrigue GLS makes a high pitched whinning noise while the engine is running. However when I give it gas it quiets down until I let off. I am not sure if it is the Serpentine belt or a...

that sure sounds like a vacuum leak ...the vacuum is highest when you let off the gas or at idle.. its lowest when you "give it the gas" ... you can use a small hose from your ear (or stethoscope) to listen to areas around the engine to find where the noise is coming from... check for a loose fan belt also ...check for cracked vacuum hoses .... if you suspect a bearing making the noise ... you can spray a little oil onto each bearing until you hear a difference in one ... in fact the noise might go away if thats the problem ..

Engine making noise

Based on what you described, sounds like the bearings on one of those items are worn out. Is it a squealing sound??

Another thing, is maybe your serpentine belt is just loose or old. You could go get a can of belt dressing and spray on the ribbed side of the belt, as it is idling.

this engine uses a timing chain, chains require no replacement unless the engine is being repaired or the chain or spockets fail

Noise from engine or transmission

If you havent or its been a while sense the transmission was serviced it should be done, whats going on hear is the filter in the trans. is pluged up and the pump is having a hard time drawing the fluid thru it and that will make the pump wine.

2000 olds intrigue will not crank

you have 3 choices.
1) Bad battery
2)Starter motor solenoid is inoperative or starter motor itself is inoperative
3) your engine is locked up
How old is your battery and are the connections to the starter motor good?
Do you hear a clicking noise when you try to start the engine?
Do you have a clunk noise when you try to start it?

If dirty connections then clean the terminals andtry to start engine.
Clicking noise means starter solenoid is picking up but starter motor is disunctional and needs replacement.
If the noise is a clunk then your engine is locked up for whatever reason.
Last but not least if you hear the starter motor runningand a metalic grinding then the star is bad on the starter motor which means replacement of same.

Can anyone tell me where the fusebox is for the 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

fastboyz is correct. There are two fuse panels. One in the engine area near the battery as he describes. The other one is on the passenger side at the end of the dash board. You have to open the passenger door. If you look at the dash board you will see a panel box cover built-in to the dash. The cover fits the contour shape of the dash. Pull on the cover and that will expose the fuses.
