SOURCE: 95 dodge dakota heater blower not working

It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)

SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango heater core

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

SOURCE: can I replace a heater core in a 2000 dodge dakota

no not on this one. The dash will need to be remover or pulled back about a foot. Then you will need to disconnect the heater and a/c hoses going into the firewall. Remove the box and split in half. one side will hold your heater core and the other is the evaporator.

How do I get to the blower motor for a 1995 dodge Dakota to replace it ?

Bad design on the 1995 Dodge Dakota. The dash has to be removed to replace the blower motor. May want to replace the heater core while the dash is out to keep from having to remove it later for a leaking heater core.

Fog coming from deforst leaving greasy film on window

it sounds like your heater core is leaking. Check to see if your coolant level is low. A radiator pressure test will show a leak. coolant may be dripping down from the heater air box drain hose. Replacement of the heater core is expensive. you can bypass the heater core, to keep you on the road, by looping one of the heater hoses back to the engine....but you will have no heat. Here are a couple of sites for reference;

No heat in the cab. Replaced thermostat but that didnt fix the problem. Inlet hose to the heater core is hot but the outlet hose is barely warm when the engine is at operating temp. Clooged core?

You definitely have a clogged heater core, unfortunately those things get clogged with sediment and it is better to replace them then to clean them out. Since you have a truck the core should be easy to access. In most cars you have to remove the whole dash. I would recommend replacement as opposed to cleaning or flushing, as most sediment that builds up in the heater core is the inner coating of the core itself which has worn away due to multiple heating cycles.
