Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Trans slipping the car was put in reverse and can not be shifted into drive. On top of that the idiot took the key out and put the emergency brake on now I need to get the car back in nuetrul or park so that the car can start
The shifter is connected to a cable that is then attached to a small lever on the transmission. Disconnet the cable at the transmission end and you'll likely be able to physically put it in neutral. Disconnect it at the shifter end and you'll be able to move the shifter to trigger the neutral lockout switch and allow the car to start. You can also short this switch to trick the car into thinking it is in neutral.
