SOURCE: Adding automatic transmission fluid to Porsche 928 S4

Mine is an 88 cant imagine its different, thereis a plastic tank on the rhs of the trans that has a screw off lid, you will need the car on stands or a hoist level and with the oil at opperating temp you will also need a bottle pump or some type of plunger to fill it the engine must be running and add the fluid slowly allow time for it to be taken into the trans repeat until at the mark and stays there

Where is transmission fluid dipstick

Yours probably does have one. Two type of transmissions are used, one is 45 one 65. I think it is the 65 that doesn't have a dip stick. To check fluid you have to lift the front. On the passenger side by the axle, there is a small 11 mm bolt. have the car running, remove the bolt, add fluid until it starts coming out of the hole.

Transmissiondipsticki

There is no dip stick on some of these models, to check the transmission fliud level you will need to check from bottom of the car and to add there is a red cap on the top of the transmission.

there is a small cap bolt on the passenger side of the ****** located in the area of the axle going into transmission, the car needs to be at operating temp and lifted level with engine running remove the plug and fluid should drip out, if not add fluid with plug out a pint at a time until fluid starts to drip out . note add a pint and shift in all gears and back to park and check for dripping fluid if dripping install cap. it is full.when adding ,after each pint run shiffter into all gears first. good day

Where is the transmission fluid on a 2003 chevy cavalier? i cannot afford to take it to a shop.

some models didn't come with a dipstick , the trans fluid temp needs to be monitered with a scanner and when it reaches a certain temp there is a bolt that needs to be removed just above the passenger axle(while running) ...if fluid comes out it's full if it doesn't you need to close the screw and add fluid under the air box should be a red cap and re-check ...it is much safer to take it to a shop because it also has to be pretty level when you do it ,if you cant afford it i would call around untill i found someone reasonable in price i would value checking the level at 35.00 to 65.00

THATS BECAUSE THERE ISNT ONE THIS IS A JOKE TO CHECK THIS THERE IS A PLUG ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION BY THE AXLE THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE OUT AND THEN START THE CAR AND IF (WHEN ) THE FLUID COMES OUT THAT HOLE IT IS FULL THERE IS A RED PLUG ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION THAT YOU ADD THE FLUID TO UNTIL IT RUN OUT THE UNDER THE CAR THIS PLUG IS ON THE TOP MIDDLE OF THE TRANSMISSION IF THE CAR HAS A V6 ENGINE ITS UNDER THE CROSSOVER PIPE AND THE CAR NEEDS TO BE ON LEVEL GROUND TO DO THIS

Where do i put transmission flouid? can't find it

Hello,

Your 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier transmission fluid can be checked by using the dipstick you will see under the hood in the engine compartment.

However,You add fluid directly through the dipstick tube.

General Motors recommends using DEXRON III automatic transmission fluid.

Good luck

I cant find the transmission dip stick

Im sure that the newer cavaliers dont have a dipstick, if you look on top of the transmission youll have a Red cap,

in order to check the fluid you have to go under the car under the passanger side, on the side of the transmission youll see a little 11 or 10 mm plug (it stands out among other bolts) remove this plug, if fluid comes out the level is good, if nothing comes out you must add fluid via the red cap

Wow! People giving bad advice!

Ok, This trans doen't have a dipstick. The fill cap IS the red cap at the top of the trans. But to check oil level, a pipe plug needs to be removed from the trans case - under the passenger axle. Vehicle must be running in park and level. When the oil runs out of the hole it is full. If not add until it does.

Just be sure it is level and running.

A pain in the *** YES it is
