SOURCE: spare tire

I have an Infinit QX56 and it uses the same tool to release the spare from under the rear of the SUV/lift gate. All you need to do is open the storage compartment in the rear hatch and get out the lug wrench bag out that has the tools. There is a long tool that looks like a bar with a "T" at the end. This will go into a hole in the rear bumper under the hatch. Then attach the extention tool and finaly lug wrench to the end with the hole in it. Rotate until you feel it catch, then rotate counter clockwise to lower the tire. Once it hits the floor, release a bit more tension so you can manuver the chain and holder out from the center of the rim. Lastly do these steps in reverse (rotate clockwise) to put the tire back under. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Removing the sump of nissan pathfinder

today they often use liquid sealer .. this forms a kind of glue .. its not really strong but hard to get it started to release ... you can use a knife to get it going then maybe a large flat bladed screw driver to continue .. being careful not to damage the surface .. once you get it started it will come off easily ..

Pathfinder spare tire wench is broken but cant be removed. I have replacement but cant get old one off

You will need to cut the cable to the wench that holds the tire up, no other way to get at the spare to use it.

Can't get the spare tire off from underneath the vehicle

Under the back seat, you will find a jack, the jack-handle serves as a turning device to lower the rear wheel. In the rear bumper section of the car you will find a hole to put this in. The rod will catch in a link that you can turn, which raises and lowers the wheel. All of this should be in the manual.
