SOURCE: 2003 trailblazer has a knock

Have you been changing the power steering fluid every
30,000,miles when doing the trans fluid at 30,000

When you do that add some lubgard for P/S
just don't use the honda version

Get the Fluid at the dealers parts counter
& lubgard at auto parts

The knock may be a worn steering rack if you have one.
That happens when the fluid isn't changed

My 2003 Chevy TrailBlazer power steering is leaking in the boot going to the rack. What do I need to do? What needs to happen

If there is power steering fluid in the rack boots than the rack has gone bad and will need to be replaced asan entire unit. It is not that hard of a job on this vehicle. The worst part will be removing the power steering lines from rack. If you think it's something you want to tackle yourself I can give you some basic direction on what to do.

I have a 2003 trail blazer with 92000 miles. The problem I have when am driving the steering seem to be harder to turn.I check the fluid in the powering steering looks good .

If it's getting harder when it's at low RPM. it could be a sensor in the power streering line that tells the PCM to increase the power at idle. A qualified Tech. with a good scanner should be able to tell you.

While driving my 2003 Trailblazer Ext 4x4, I went to turn and had zero power steering. No prior hints of growling pump, low fluid, or anything. Just went from working fine to no power steering at all. Pump...

Sounds like the pump. Here is a way to test it. Take a pair of pliers and pinch off the return line to the pump when the engine is running. (only do this for about 5 sec.) If the pump is running, it will whine and howl when you do this. If it doesn't make any noise when you pinch the line, the pump is bad.

Loud humming noise

The power steering pump humms when it has gone bad.

You need to replace or service it incase there is a blockage due to dirt in the transmission oil compartment.

Costs not so much.

Rate this please.
