The relay should be in the ubec, the underhood fuse box. if it's turning on without having ignition signal, you need to be looking for a short to power. get a haynes or chilton manual and trace the circuit. get a cheap digital multimeter from advance auto or pep boys or wherever to check the resistance of a wire from one connector end to the other.

1995 Buick Skylark, where is the box with the radiator fan relay in it located?

4d6d3003-b7cd-4c62-a0d4-47967f888842.gifHere is where most of your relays are, there is another relay box located inside the car on the passenger side under the dash. Sometimes youll have to take the glove box out to find the second relay box. This should have a cover on it sense most people do not know of this relay box its usually untouched. The cover will tell you what relay does what. But here is a pic with the relay center under the hood and should help you out.

My 98 neon is over heating and i know why, its the fans, their not working but the question is "why aren't they working ?" the fuses are find (they've been tested ) is it the fan motor? i was told that...

When trying to trouble shoot any automobile electrical system, you have to be aware of all components and their locations. A wiring diagram of your cooling system will provide you with this information. Once you have it you can use this diagram to test the fan itself, relay and controllers by jumping them directly to the battery. If those components are fine you can test the coolant sensor which tells the fans when to turn on. Work your way thru the system from the fans back to the begining of the circuit.

Where is electric raddiator fan sending unit located

this problem is seldom caused by the fan sensor on the engine, the most common cause is a defective fan control solid state relay, the relay is located behind and below the left headlight, the headlight must be removed to access it, check also for melted wiring at the fan motor and the relay module, this is so common that it should have been recalled in my humble opinion.Below find a diagram of the location of the solid state relay controller.

Electric cooling fans only come on when air conditioner is on.

Hi, the relay for AC compressor/Horn are on the left as you look at the car from the front. in the middle are Blower/Hi/Low and On the right,Engine Fan High Engine Fan Low. You may have more or less relaysand they may not be in order.

They are located in the Power Distribution Centre under the hood up near the wipers on the left. The fuses and breakers are on top and the relays are on the bottom.

Find the horn relay because its reasy to honk the horn while you pull the relay that completes the circuit. The one that is dissconnected and the horn wont blow is a good relay. Check the power rating in Amps and switch with the fan relays. You can find the fan by unplugging the coolant temp sensor. This will make the fan run all the time on High Speed (a good temporary fix for traffic jam overheating) and unplugging relays untill the fan stops running

Good Luck.

2000 Jaguar S-type 4.0 sport no fuel pressure at fuel rail new fuel filter, fuse is not blown, and can't find a fuel pump relay anywhere. Cranks over well, should my next step be to replace the fuel pump...

this is the fuel pump itself that has failed, replace it. It is located inside the fuel tank and is sold as a module assembly about $675
BOSCH Part # 67935 {Fuel Pump Assembly}
or as just a pump which you splice into the old sender assembly fuel pump module for around $120
AIRTEX Part # E2314 {In Tank Electric Fuel Pump}
Strainer included with pump.

ABS--BAS

Most likely cause is the 'stop lamp switch'
It is a electric switch located on the brake pedal inside the car, about half way up on the brake pedal.
Pretty cheap too, I think the switch is only like $25 bucks.
2 connectors on the switch and then it turns out.
hope that helps
Fan relay should be in black box near frewall

Cooling fans not coming on/1995 cadillac eldorado

there is a relay panel under the hood with your engine cooling fan relay inside, a 12 dollar part, sounds to me like this relay may need to be replaced. There will be a diagram in your owners manual telling you exactly where it is located in your car. It should be noted that this relay has to be activated before the current reaches any fuse inside the cars fuse panel so your fan fuses can all be good but if the relay is not working the engine cooling fans will not come on. Be careful of dealerships I had one tell me it was a 3000 dollar wiring problem when it was only the relay.

Electric fan motor not coming on.

Fan relay, its usually located near the fan shroud or rad saddle. Check your owners manual for exact location for your model or call VW and speak with a mechanic to find the location. Sounds like the relay is burned out. A relay for that is like 5 bucks and just plugs in like a fuse simple to replace.
