Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Overheating and not throwing any heat

Have a flow test done on the radiator to check for blocked cores. Have a compression test done to check for head gasket and cracked head. Check that there is not an air lock in the cooling system as an air lock will cause overheating and no heater temperature.

No heat after water pump replaced 2001 300m 3.5l

Did you change the thermostat? It could be stuck in the open positon, or in backwards, or missing all together. I would like for you to check your heater hoses where they connect to the engine, as this is a very good place for corrosion to build up, restricting coolent flow to your heater core. If this don't fix your heat, I would like to know the reason you changed the water pump. Was it overheating? Did you have heat before you changed the water pump?

My 2000 Chrysler 300M Heater is blowing cold air and the engine is overheating

This is most likely due to an empty cooling system. Check the coolant in the radiator (with the car off for atleast 30 minutes). Once you refill it you can see if you have a leak in the radiator or a hose, etc. If there is a bunch of smoke coming out the tail pipe or the oil level is really high, than you have blown a head gasket.

HEATER DOES NOT PUT OUT HEAT, HEATING CORE WAS REPLACED, WAS FLUSHED OUT, BUT STILL PUTS OUT COOL AIR.

you have air in the system there should be a 1/4 inch or 5/16 bleeder screw that needs to be opened up so the system can purge itself

Yr 2000, 300m 3.5......No heat. has antifreeze and just put in new thermostat. what the hell is wrong ? Freezing in Indiana

Just for everyone's edification: There is a cooling system BLEEDER on top of the intake manifold in front of, and between the runners of the fuel injection plenum- that big, black, spidery looking thing on top of the engine. It is a 10MM bleeder that looks just like a brake bleeder. turn it counter-clockwise until all the air is gone and fluid runs freely. That should do it. Sorry dadhoosierg had to freeze to death before he got his answer... but it is good advice for the living. :)

you need to make sure the cooling fans are turning on when it reaches 212 degrees,it could be a blown fuse for coolant fans or a relay
