Check engine light came on when getting gas and they say that it will cost 1200.00 tofix I don't have that kind of money. please help!

most repair shops are out to make a profit and steal everybodys money. " who has money now days" im on disability and have not got a cola for 2 years. but gas food etc is going up. the best thing to do is go to any auto parts store and they will scan car for free. to find problem code. as long as light is still on. then go from there. or repost! have a good day !!

1998 Accord EX 4cyl manual trans. I have to "pump" the clutch in order for the starter to engage. Is this the 1)Clutch switch assembly or 2) clutch switch inhibitor?

first check fluid level on clutch master .if it is low top it up then check for leack may find leack inside the driver side close to clutch pedal on carpet or on slave cylinder. if the level is fine you may have problem in clutch.
