SOURCE: fuel pump wont stay on wont start replace the

The pump is not supposed to stay on, you should only hear it for a second or two when the ignition is turned on. At least you know the pump is working. There must be a problem in the ignition system, like no spark, do to a bad coil, ignition module, without testing it's hard to say.

SOURCE: replaced fuel pump & still car wont start on 97 olds 88

You have to check for spark and fuel pressure. The 3800 motor can have a bad module (sits right below the coil pack, as well as bad coils. Also check for fuel pressure. I put a brand new dealer pump in a 93 Olds once and it was not putting out enough pressure to engage the injectors. Section 4 in a Hayes manual found at most Advance and Auto zone stores will give you the fuel pressure reading you need.

Hope this helps.

My 2006 chevy hhr suddenly wont start or crank about a week ago i did have a problem with power steering going out and had to drive it home like that but it now works

Can you hear the starter try to engage ?
Do the lights work ?
Have you tried cranking it in neutral ?
If the starter engages but won't turn the engine, and the battery is good, the power steering pump could have failed and that is locking up things. Removing the belt would tell you if the pump is the problem.

Never changed the fuel pump in 2006 hhr but it keeps blowing fuses

Check the wires at the fuel tank / pump. There is a chance they could have rubbed through and causing the short. If you check / test the wires and they are good then just replace the pump. Most likely cause is blown fuse is the fuel pump shorted out.

Make sure you are replacing the fuse with correct amperage.

How do I change the fuel filter on a 2006 hhr

There is no fuel filter you can replace without dropping the gas tank.
GM stopped using filters in most models in 2001.
There is a screen in front of the pump inside the tank.

Hhr hard start

Possibly low fuel pressure. Fuel pump going bad, fuel filter becoming plugged. Fuel pressure regulator not right. The best thing is put it on a pressure tester and see what is going on.

When I try to start my 2006 hhr sometimes it seems like the battery is dead; but then even after a jump it acts like it is starting but it stalls out like it is not getting any fuel. the tank is almo

Could be several things, I would replace the battery first, sometimes the cables get corroded which could cause a bad connection.Try cleaning the cables or check to see if the cables are tight. If you are having to jump the car all the time that has to be a bad battery. OR a bad alternator that wont hold a charge on the battery.. worse case scenario is fuel pump, though I dont think its that.
If you have an Autozone in your area, take the battery in and get it tested. They can figure it out pretty fast

2006 HHR turns over fine but won't start

Turn your key to the "on" position and listen...you should be able to hear the fuel pump running. If not, I would like to say to check a relay, but the hard starting was probably an indication that the pump was going bad and it most likely went. If the pump is running, I would replace the fuel filter or get a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail. Hope this helped, sorry for your troubles, and I hope you find a resolution to your problem that is not too painful.
