SOURCE: intake manifold runner control stuck

left rear of intake manifold, there should be a vacuum operated shaft that turns these throttle plates. You'll have to troubleshoot reason. Try turning shaft by hand. There is a vacuum switch that runs vacuum to both banks. I think it's behind the engine nearer the firewall.

Hi

it sounds like the EGR valve is either dirty or has failed, do you lose any power at all, if not then thats a good sign, remove the EGR and clean with carb clneaer only, leave to dry naturally and dont try to dry it or touch it yourself, they often do get dirty as the job they do is similar to that of a turbo with exhaust gasses.

lastly clean the air mass sensor too, both are easy to do and easy to remove.

I cannot find reference to the VREF or VPWR as they may be referenced in a ford workshop manual so you may have to ask a ford service person what they stand for but I suspect that they will come back to the same thing as listed in the causes

P2014 - Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit (Bank 1)
The IMRC system is monitored for failure during continuous or KOEO self-test. Each DTC distinguishes the corresponding failed bank for IMRC actuator assemblies with dual monitor switches. The test fails when the signal on the monitor pin is outside an expected calibrated range. This DTC replaces P1516.
  • IMRC monitor circuit open.
  • Mechanical concern - bind, seize, damage or obstruction of IMRC hardware.
