How do I fund the turn signal & flasher on my 2002 Saturn SL

It's connected to the turn signal stem, inside the steering column. It comes with a new turn signal stalk, so the steering wheel has to come off. It's easy, make sure you disconnect the battery, so the airbag will be disarmed. Any shade tree mechanic can do this in about an hour.

How to change flasher unit 0n 2002 Saturn L-series

WARNING The flasher unit for turn signals should not be switched with a flasher unit for the hazard lights. To check the filaments of all of the turn signal bulbs and the brake lights, turn on the hazard flashers and walk around the car.
A flasher can be located in the fuse panel, under the dash in the wiring loom, in a glove box, under the hood, or somewhere else.
f36-02.jpg A fuse panel. Most flashers are located under the dashboard on the driver's side. When working properly, a flasher is easy to locate because it makes a ticking sound. When it is not functioning, a service manual may be needed to help locate it. Lighting company catalogs generally have pages listing the location of flashers.
To replace a flasher:
  • A flasher features two or three prongs that plug into a socket.
  • Just pull the flasher out of the socket and replace it with a new one.

The turn signals and hazzard lights wont work on my 99 saturn car

Try replacing the signal & hazard flashers. Some vehicles only use 1 flasher for both. The flashers are usually located under the dash by the steering column. They look the picture below ..

Turn signals will not stay working for more than a few seconds then turns off.

Sounds like the flasher is bad. I would locate it and if it is a two prong, swap it with the hazard flasher, see if it fixes your problem. replace the flasher. if it is a three prong then you will have to purchase one. Your owners manual will tell you where the flashers are located. They are under the dash by the fuse panel or up by the steering column. sorry I can't tell you exactly where they are. some one got the bright idea to hide them everywhere. If for some chance this is not your problem then I would be looking at the turn signal switch. Let me know and we can go from there to make sure.
Good luck

Turn signal flasher

You have to unscrew a small panel to the left of the cigarette lighter to access the flashers. There are 2 there, one for the turn signals and one for the hazards
