High idle will not come down to normal on a 2005 chevy optra

SOURCE: 95 chevy g20 idles too high, how do I turn idle down?

i would first check for a vacuum leak because this is considered a newer vehicle and does not have an idle screw, so I would get some "brake kleen" and mist it at each vacuum hose, if the idle changes then change that hose it means there is a leak, and that should sove your problem, if it doesnt , I would then check /replace the idle air control valve as this is the motor that controls the idle

If a/c, headlights,.. other stuff is on 950 is about right.

Pull the oil pan and check the oil screen first. It may be plugged up
This happens when the engine is not serviced and neglected

Possible problem could be failure of the vacuum link that should maintain the RPM when the a/c is turned on. Open the bonnet to check for any loose tubing/ wires.

SOURCE: where is the thermostat located in the 2005 chevy

It is located on the left side of the engine(frt view) remove the rad hose then the 2 bolts holding the housing to the engine and you will find the thermostat.
