SOURCE: How difficult is it to change the PCV valve. 2004

PCV is an acronym for positive crankcase ventilation.
The PCV Valve is a very common replacement item on many engines today. It's called the PCV valve for short but it stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. When your engine spins it many times collects pressure in the crankcase area, and it has to escape to relieve pressure on the motors bearings and seals. The PCV valve and PCV system is typically located near the intake manifold, and many times comes right off of the valve cover. It is very simple to replace the PCV valve, and you can do so by simply unscrewing it, and screwing in the new valve. We recommend using a little bit of teflon tape or paste to make sure you do not get any oil leaks.
Example (see picture below): 2,4 ltr. Audi V6 engine (BDV, AMM)

SOURCE: PCV valve for 2004 Hona CRV

poor advice on not replacing the PCV valve. Dirty throttle bodies, dirty oil re-introduced back into the crank case and less efficient valves are all serious concerns, particularly if the oil isn't changed regularly.

I wouldn't go over 60K without replacling it

SOURCE: Where is pcv valve located on 2005 taurus

It is below the egr valve close to the intake manifold below the intake air sensor, there is a tube running to it from the engine to recirculate exhaust air with fresh air, there is a clamp holding it to the air intake that you need pliers to remove, then you need to turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees to remove, do the reverse to install. to make it easier to access remove the upper intake. The pcv valve is not visible, however, you can identify it by the 3" inch long rubber hose that connects to the steel line running into the bottom of the intake. I have the part and am going to replace it soon, although Ford really makes it difficult to remove it -
pcv valve is located just under the throttle body. remove air cleaner assembly from throttle body and you will see a u shaped hose running horizontally.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 91 passat 2.0 16v?

i'm not sure for this particular vehicle. but almost always the pcv valve is located on top of valve cover. it will be a small oil filter looking thing or a large hose that leads into your intake manifold. if the valve itself is not visible. remove the cam cover and it will be directly underneath the hose
