Be sure to check the front struts and mounts. Open the hood and try to bounce the front-end up and down as much as possible while looking at the strut mounts.

Toyota Camry v6 1998 overheated now have a clattering noise in top end at 2000 rpm

Get a compression test done to eliminate a warped head or cracked head . Hopefully you have not cracked the block as this costs 6000 dollars AUD to fix or $3500 AUD for a Reco Engine.
If it is an alloy head the two metals cool at different rates and warping or cracking can occur. $$$$$$$ costly $$$$$$ to fix

2007 Ford Escape Hybrid Clatter Noise

So being it doesn't clatter in electric mode, a safe assumption is the noise is with the gas motor.

Usually a clattering noise is valvetrain noise, like a lifter not pumping up.

Low oil will cause this.

3 quarts low would probably definitely cause this!

You need to find out why you lost 3 quarts in only 80 miles!

A/C on Honda Civic not working. Clattering noise

Most likely too much freon, freon is not always the answer,a bad condenser,or expansion valve, anything can cause this to happen,if there is too much freon,it will try and lock up.

MY 2001 TRACKER HAS A VERY LOUD CLATTER IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE I THINK ITS INTERNAL I'VE CHECKED THE IDLER PULLEYS AN CHANGED THE FAN BELT

Be sure to check the water pump. With the car running you can take a very long socket extension and place one end on different parts of the valve cover, block, alternator, a/c compressor, etc. and the other end hold to your ear. You may be able to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. This truly is a great way to narrow own a noise like this but....BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO INTERFERE WITH ANY MOVING PARS OR HOT ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. THINK SAFELY AND IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE, TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL. SAFETY FIRST.

I have a 2007 1500 suburban with 5.3L ''Still under warrenty'' When I decelerate then accelerate, the engine valves clatter, should I hear any at all or maybe the question is how much is normal

Is it valve clatter or spark knock. You should not have any valve noise or knocking noises from the engine. Has the service engine light ever come on.
You can have the Suburban scanned at your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts free of charge.
Let me know.

97 dakota engine noise / fr lower clatter

Unless you are getting this vehicle really cheap dont buy it. the noise is likely a valve lifter, it can run for years like that. However the transmission is a different story, it could be a clogged filter an easy fix. or the valve body, clutches etc which is not.

Strange Noise from front end of engine 97 intrepid 3.5L

Sounds like it could be the water pump, timing belt tenstioner/pulley. The water pump is driven off the back side of the timing belt and it may or may not leak if the bearing is bad. I have seen water pumps that are about to fall off not leak. If you look at the front of the oil pan just under the crank pulley and see even 1 drip of green coolant your water pump is shot. The stamped steel front cover comes off easy to inspect the timing belt and stuff. Your engine is a iron block engine and if the timing belt breaks you will damage your valves. The later alluminum block 3.5L is not an interferance engine.

1995 isuzu Rodeo engine noise

valve guides worn and tappet adjustment required, can check tappet adjustment first to see slightly better before removing heads and getting valve guides repaired/replaced on heads common problem
if raise revs to 1500-2000rpm and hold does clatter come and go come and go (valve guides) if there all the time tappet clearance issue
if there only under load (1st rev up) for a couple of times then stops possible big end bearing
all these are common for this engine

Honda civic ek3 1999 model

I assume you mean low idle speed 500 rpm. Genarally a tapping noise comes from the valve train, and a knocking noise comes from the crankshaft connecting rods. The way that a mechanic will narrow it down is to use a mechanics stethoscope. You can get one pretty cheaply at an auto parts store. Put the metal end of the scope on a part of the engine and listen for noise. On the other hand, if your car is idling at 5000 rpm, it would also be making ALOT of noise.
