2003 lincoln aviator/how do you know if there's motor damage

Your car shouldn't have just suddenly started burning oil. Its possible it's leaking in the engine compartment and the leak is dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold and the. The smoke is blowing out the back as you drive. I would think it's unlikely that the engine has been damaged since the check-engine light should have come on if the oil level was low enough to cause damage.

If hii find that bluish smoke is coming from the exhaust pipes, then the next thing to check is whether it smokes on acceleration or deceleration. If the latter, it may be just a valve issue. If it smokes a lot on startup, then it may be rings.

97 es 300 car runs great stopped at store 30 min when restarted heavy white smoke

White smoke means water is getting into the engine from teh coolant system. Likely that your engine cylinder head has a crack, or head gasket is bad

My 1997 subaru impreza squeals badly and then engine smokes

Hi this sounds weird does the smoke come out from the front engine covers? the squealing could be the cambelt trying to turn a semi or completly ceased waterpump which would cause the smoke after a while, also without the waterpump working properly the engine will leak water and anti freeze out the overflow and overheat really quickly

I have a 2006 Jaguar S-Type, on some times when stopped at lights i get white / blue smoke come from the engine front near side, Jaguar seems to think this is normal, but not to sure , does anyone els

no smoke is normal unless from an exhaust when cold. Sounds like you have an oil leak, some how the oil is dripping onto the exhaust.
No self respecting Jaguar dealer would say this is normal.

Transmission issue. I was going up a hill (IN WV)... and my engine started to smoke. When i pulled over and examined my car it was pissing transmission fluid. ..it was more so near the front of the engine...

In your comments you say front of engine then you say coming from between the engine and transmission. By your description of your engine starting to smoke it sounds like a sudden rather large leak that sprayed or splatter on your exhaust system where it immediately would cause a smoking condition, really only two places a transmission would have enough fluid pressure during a leak to send enough fluid in a short time to cause your experience, check for a Transmission Oil Cooler Hose and or your first thought a Blown Torque Converter Seal. Torque Converter seals usaully start with a slow leak at advance towards a larger leak over time but I have seen where a entire seal has become unseated thus causing a sudden and high volume leak. Check Transcooler lines and TC seal... Hope ths helps

To verify your issue the vehicle should be raised safely on an auto lift or a on recommended weight rated jack stands to preform a visual inspection for your leak.
