Question about Cars & Trucks
When car is locked it unlocks like a door is not shut even though doors are shut, ive narrowed it down to the passanger side. if sitting in the car and the passanger side lock is held down all doors lock except passanger rear
Inside the door is an electric motor that pulls the door lock down to the locked position, either the rod has come off to the door latch from the door lock motor or the motor has failed. Remove the door panel and check it for power when the button is pressed for the power locks, if it gets power then it is most likely the motor that is the problem.

SOURCE: Rear Door will not Lock
After researching this problem, I suspect it is the door lock actuator located in each affected door. They can be purchased online. If you also suspect this and want to fix it yourself by removing the door panel and the old actuator, then installing the new actuator, test the locks, then install the door panel. Or for more detailed information, go to this website for a how to with pictures and written instructions. http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&albumid=12198

You'll probably have to remove the door panel and look at the lock assembly. It sounds like one of the linkages may be broken or seizing...

You have a intermittent condition. To isolate the cause: 1.Disconnect the drivers door lock/unlock switch from the connector. Drive the vehicle and see if your random lock/unlock condition has stopped. If it has, replace the switch. If it hasn't:
2. You have a grounding problem or a problem in the BCM (Body Control Module) and should have a technician use a Tech 2 Diagnostic Link Tool to access the BCM computer to obtain any fault code data to help correct the condition.
