G4ael transmission slipping 3rd gear
Check your fluid if fluid is good you have a problem. You still have a shot though, Lucas makes a great trans product that I have used with success and it might save you depending on how far gone your trans is. Good luck.

I had this exact problem on my 2005 5.3L Suburban... It would shift into 1 and 2 and reverse, but not 3 and 4.
I took it into a transmission shop, and he said the 3-4 shift solenoid was burned up. Wanted 1500 to fix it. Far from home, so I have to pay it.

Your transmission has 3 shift rails...
1st - 2nd
If your 3rd gear doesn't work , you have an internal transmission problem, such as a syncronizer, or similar fail... There is not much you can fix, without removeing the transmission.

it must be something to do with electronic control to gearbox ecu wireing i assume the replacement gearbox came with tourqe convertor a diagnostic check might be best option
