Reverse light adjustment for 1988 chevy silverado

The switch is mounted on the side of the transmission. There is some adjustment range by loosening the mount screws and rotate the switch until the lites come on when in reverse.

There is a shortage somewhere in the panel where I change my gears, my reverse lights will come on and then go off but if I jiggle the gear shift they will light back up. How can I repair this problem?

It sounds like a bad connection or the switch needs adjustment,to the backup lites.I think the switch is under the panel or where the center console is and the Emergency brake lever.,but first check on the transmission it may be located there! The neutral saftey sw. and back up lites sw. may be in the same switch housing! There is a cable that selects the transmission into gear.

Back up lights won't turn on when in reverse

Possibly you have a bad neutral safety switch, or the reverse lite switch @ the trans. Get a test lite @ a parts store. Check all the fuses, then turn on the key to the run position (don't start the engine), set the parking brake! Put the car in reverse and check for power @ the lite socket. If you have power, change the bulbs. You'll have to get deeper into the elec. system if there's no power. Good luck.

How much does it cost to fix reverse lites on a 1997 volvo?

This is an external problem.P1134 is telling us that upper O2 sensor on bank 1 -which is firewall side- is responding slow and needs to be replaced. P0705 is showing the transmission range switch -which is located on the top of the transmission just under the battery tray- has given up. That is why the shifter indicator lights acting weird. Replacing these two parts will take care of your problem.

How do i get to the revers lites in my 1989 buick lasabre

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
