1998 Toyota Camry 4 cyclinder- After a big loud noise from under the car there was a constant loud noise coming from the front of the motor which sounded like a Harley Davidson motorcycle. It was also having issues w/ power going to the car. To get going, especially up a hill, the gas pedal would be pressed all the way down and the RPMs would range from 3-5. The noise would get louder and I was only able to go 30-45 MPH (60MPH coasting). Once the car was stopped and the hood was lifted it was noticed that the exhaust manifold was bright red w/ heat.

this really sounds like a broken motor mount / trans mount. An easy way to check is have someone sit in the car and shift into reverse, then to neutral, then to drive. Have your "assistant" do this repeatedly with the hood up, parking brake ON and foot FIRMLY applying the brakes while you watch the motor move. if you can see a big difference in "jump" between reverse and drive, that is a bad mount. The motor will lift or "jump" higher on the broken mount side. if your really not sure then try a gentle power brake in each direction.
It sounds like the cataltic converter is pluged and it is giving you fits this is a common problem due to all fuel contaning ethonal. Try taking the exaust apart before the cataltic converter. On the 4 cylinders it is that big can looking thing in front of the motor by the oil dip stick and the oil filter. On the V6 take it apart right after the front pipe and the rear pipe come together. If this is the problem the car will run but it will be a whole lot louder that normal. If this fixes it take it to an exaust shop and ask them to replace the converter.
Do you know if the battery is dead? See if your head lights come on. The starter contacts inside the starter are notorias for wearing out after a good amount of time. If this is what you find wrong, then you can find these at a good parts store.
