A gentle whistling noise from a 2001 ford focus, someone mentioned it may be from the brake servo which means removal of entire dashboard, any ideas


Check the pcv hose that goes to the intake manifold. Over time they will get soft collapse and leak. Check while running. To find whistle get a 3 ft.hose and put one end of it to your ear and search for the noise with the other end as a listening device.

Ford Focus Rattle


catalytic converter is probably rattling, they do that when they are on the way out, performance will be effected, as it block's, engine cant exhaut properly !

Clutch vibrating


Two reasons for this. Rattling is usually faulty pressure plate which means clutch overhaul. Depending on which Focus some have a rubber mounted flywheel which dies and must be replaced. Either way its gearbox out and check. First check all gearbox and engine mounts, but it sounds more serious.

first try to tie all your bolts in the front end with1/2 drive wrench,then try to bounce your car in the front to pinpoint where is the rattle it could be your strut mount
