The heater matrix is within the passenger compartment, under the dash. Usually situated close to the centre of the bulkhead area.

Why does heater blow cold air?

The heater control valve is most likely not working, its located close to the firewall on the passenger side under the hood, you can watch it as someone turns the heat on to see if it is working, You can also use a wire tie, or zip tie to keep it open until you are able to actually fix it, you'll just always have heat....

Is the rear heater core in the same box as the front heater core?

No, it's in back where you feel the heat come out. Sometimes you can locate them by looking underneath vehicle towards back look for heater hoses similar to those found under hood.

Why the heater motor/blower control knob works only on high,if i put it in low/medium range, it will turn-off

Very common when heater blower motor "Resistor" goes bad. In most cases they are either located under hood on firewall, passenger side, or under dash, passenger side, near blower motor. If I can confirm on location of it, I'll get back to you.
