Itube fatman mk1 volume dial making a crackling noise

My itube fatman mk1 is making a crackling noise through 1 speaker when the volume is adjusted. I have changed the speaker, and its not that. Just wondering where I could get a replacement dial from, or if anyone has managed to fix this problem?

Try spraying switch cleaner into the volume control and working it from side to side. It sounds like it may be worn, dirty or corroded.

SOURCE: Speakers/Stereo may be shorting out

You will need to remove the stereo. Some of them have four holes that you have to put either the tools or long thin screwsdrivers or nails into to pull it out. Others have tabs around the edges that have to be bent down in order to come out. Then you will want to look at the wire harness to see where the short is. See if it can be glued or soldered back together

SOURCE: My speakers

Are your speakers factory? Sometimes the wires start corroding from moistures or from not being covered well. If you can or know someone who can, you may try checking the wires to the speakers/radio. If they are corroding, they may be shorting out.

SOURCE: I tried to install an aftermarket 6 1/2" speaker

possible reasons:

Impedance mismatch
wiring is grounding out on frame/metal
speaker isn't OEM and is slightly "pinched" thus causing cone distortion

One of these three will be your issue.

Also, you may remove the speaker and leave it hanging with the wires attached. Knowing that no wiring is shorted and nothing is disturbing the cone, try running your stereo. Same crackling problem? It may be an impedance issue or you reversed the polarity on your speaker.

It will require some work but the solution is there if it was working before.

2014. Why are there crackling noises in RF speaker?

You may have a short or open condition in the wire/cable connecting the two. Especially the ground connection, if it gets disconnected, the the main signal wire will pick up every stray electric/electronic noise near the wire.

Radio on 2008 dodge nitro stops working it goes out for a while then comes back on. no sound even when turning the volume up and down. it makes a loud popping noise and goes out.

Im having the same problem! No pop, just a hum, and my volume dial won't adjust. Like the actual dial isn't working. I can't use radio, cd, or aux. Silence SUCKS.

you possibly have a broken fuse somewhere, whether it is the fuse relay between the stereo and the fuse box or if it is the fuse broken in the fuse box itself. check the fuses fisrt.
